An addict is an addict, as an addict is an addict, and an addict is still an addict, and the addiction keeps on rollin'.

Lucky, I like you, I really do, infact the only reason I check these forums as often as I do is because I want to make sure your ok.

Your friend is a dick. No doubt, but you shouldn't have gotten to the point where you almost died. I think some of these posters are being mean, but I think that you should listen to them.

Your drug use is a big reason that your husband and you are having problems, I know he insults you but to be honest, it's hard to respect someone who doesn't respect themselves.

Get off the drugs :) Your a wonderful person, we don't need another great person such as yourself giving in to drugs

maybe youre right about that.......................but my experience is that if i start using something else i will either become addicted to that substance or go back to my favorite cause what ive substituted with just dont get me where i want to go.

ive been clean for almost 2 weeks now. i was clean once for 6 months. that was the longest in 36 years. im just gonna try to not use today. many may disagree but im not counting weed.

either i use or i dont...................no tapering off for me.

Of course it's wrong. You don't let a person die just because you might go to jail.

Okay, Lucky, you better read this NOW because this is the LAST time I am replying to your threads until I see one announcing you're clean and have a strategy to stay that way.

Number one, yeah, leaving someone who's ill on any substance because you don't want to get in trouble is shitty and no, I wouldn't have done it myself, I would've ditched or hid the weed and called the ambulance. But I understand why he'd run and now you know the type of person he is and you know not to let him around anymore. Cut off contact with him, that's the farthest you or Dan need to take it.

Two, start taking responsibility for your own actions and your own life and realize that even if your health problems extend beyond addiction and withdrawals, you will not know that until you've completely kicked your habits and gotten your body back to itself without the drugs. Stop being so fucking stupid and think before you do anything. I never suggest this, but maybe you should stop EVERYTHING, including pot. Let your body heal itself before you do anymore damage. I'm proud of you for weaning down and I know it's rare to see someone go cold turkey, so just keep it up, and instead of reading messages about your blunders and mistakes, I want to start reading threads about your daily triumphs. Until you stop approaching this so negatively as you have thus far, you won't be able to kick any habit.

That's all I have to offer you. Post us some threads about your successes and then you can have the positive feedback you crave. Until then, you're just going to hear the same thing over and over.

if a person is ODing or even if you suspect it, the proper course of action is to destroy all the drugs you can find while you are on the phone dialing 911. if ya lose 50 or 100 bucks, yes even 1000 bucks, to save a life, or even if it was cus you mistakenly thought u were savin a life, then its well worth it.

    and btw
ive used LOTS of things i never got addicted to..
just cause you do something a couple times doesnt mean you're going to get addicted. but maybe some people just cant grasp that.

    Get clean, Lucky.

A bad past doesn't have to mean a bad future.

I'm not going to lecture you since I don't know you well enough to do so, and it seems like you have enough people around here who care about you to do it.

Just remember: the people who care about you are the ones who are going to give you shit about it. If they didn't care, they would leave you to your own devices and let you hit bottom. The people who are coming over and giving you more pot, more pills, more drugs are not looking out for your best interest.

They just wanna get fucked up.

Me and you talked on MSN almost a year ago when you were drunk and hurt, and all you could talk about was your past. Your family especially.

I've had a bad past too, Lucky, and I know from experience what addiction is like, but I also know that it IS possible to kick everything and LET THE PAST GO.

Maybe you should consider a stint in rehab or even just going to see a counseller.

I wish you the best of luck with the drugs, your marriage and your life.
