Question to Scots about Scots Americans

    i'm a scot and i live in scotland
    scots are very tribal
    i am originally from the borders and my family has lived there forever
    i moved to the west coast a while back and guess what?
    i'm considered to be a foreigner
    the local saying goes that unless you have six generations in the churchyard you are a stranger
    go figure....

    We have a similar belief here in the South, about people moving down from
    the North. If you move here from up north, you cant be a southerner, your kids cant even be a southerner, even if they are born here, because the saying goes "Just because the cat has kittens in the oven, dont make em biscuits."
