Yeah, dissociatives have a very dark side that can start to come out after overuse and can take you to dark places in your mind that you don't want to go. For a while I thought they were helping me in some ways and had some benefits, and on certain doses I could pass as normal and function, performing basic tasks and things like that ... but the moreish nature of them causes me to pretty much be constantly dissociated to some extent as long as I have some in my stash and I realized that when I'm in this state, I'm basically mentally retarded, I could do basic arithmetic but couldn't do any complex math or anything requiring a good cognition, like I might not even be able to type in the password for my computer to use it ... so now I'm stuck.

I think i might prefer MXM to MXE, less manic and feels closer to ketamine. It's been a while since i've had some proper ketamine, but it may be the "lsd of dissociatives" and more mentally friendly that some of those others that have more of the PCP like effects ... the short duration of K is a plus in my book, because even with MXE I would be ruined for the rest of the day, and probably not be able to sleep that night; I plan to do my best to avoid dissociatives for a while though, they definitely won't help me academically. If only I could control my use, like I can with LSD and only do it on a weekend, or once a week max, but I can't ... i keep wanting to redose and me having a whole gram of something like that to keep redosing from ... I just can't do it right now.

Sounds like dissociatives are off the table for you. Do you feel like you'll be able to use psychedelics reasonably in the future?

Hahaha, yeah me either. Too many people on acid in one place is so.. volatile. Glad to hear your trips went well though! It has been a while since I've done some good acid but I should get on that sometime.. around 5-6 tabs would be a good dose at this point in time I think.

The first time I did Ketamine, I remember telling myself that I could definitely see how it would lead to an easy addiction. MXE was never quite as addictive in nature for me, but I definitely see the potential and the appeal. I'm very glad to hear that you have such supportive family around you - that is priceless help!



In other news, I have been experiencing what appears to be good success growing peyote recently. I tried to start some cacti a couple of years ago and kept experiencing issues with dying cactus when I left them in other's care. Also, the sun here was never quite enough to grow them without stretching and probably lifelong stunting. So now I've got a 150Watt HPS bulb and a 20Watt Fluorescent bulb rather than sun lighting. The fluorescent bulb is there to supply a bit more of the blue light spectrum as opposed to the very yellow HPS.

Anyway, I've got 12 regular peyote seedlings and one peyote var. caespitosa growing very well. After years of staring at these dying cacti I've got, it gives me immeasurable joy to see these many healthy, non sun-burned, non stretched cacti every morning. I'll probably make a little growing log over in the cacti forum eventually.

 

How was it? 450-500mics is when LSD starts getting good for me. Or rather, the first really enjoyable trip I had on LSD was with 6 of the 2010 Hoffmann blotters, which I believe were around 100mic each. (reportedly)

 

It was good. I ended up seeing the New Star Wars.

 

450 mics is where LSD would start getting real damn intense for me
i guess i can't say for SURE, since i've probably taken LSD that high...once or twice.
usually around 200-300 ug suffices for me. one day i'll try a higher dose. i still have 3 red stars saved away that are 150 ug each supposedly.

i think i got to try those 2010 hoffmans too. if they were the same ones, i tried 1 blotter, then 2, then 3...and i didn't have a satisfyingly strong enough trip til i dosed all three. i would estimate them to be more like 60-70 ug maybe. i might recall reading that they were tested by some Dutch place at around that strong. either way, i'm sure 6 of them was a hoot!

surely, you're trip on 450 micrograms of L S D warrants more of a comment than that...

 

I think the hoffmans i had long ago were the 2008 and 2009 .. and even just one would knock ur socks off. No idea what the dosage was .. i usually took 2-3 of those, but did once take a tenstrip of those (crazy)

also "had" to eat close to twenty of those tabs .. it was a bad situation and would have been in much more trouble than dosing 20 hits of acid could bring me had i not swallowed all those hits if ya know what i mean

 

Yeah, 450 mics is definitely a strong trip. There's something about LSD which is very euphoric for me, but it only really starts coming out at higher doses, around 5-6 tabs. I did 3 of the mayan calendar tabs once, and that was very strong visually and mentally, but not euphoric like 5-6 tabs is. Then when I did 12 tabs, that was VERY euphoric, however at that dose I feel like the trip gets intense to the point where I get less out of it, and it's more mental and visual candy. Then again.. maybe an even higher dose would be surprisingly different, like 3 vs. 6 was

I also mixed one of those 2010 Hoffmanns with 1.5g of some weak mushrooms and had an amazing time at a concert, although that was before I took the 6 tab dose.
I never got to try any of the earlier Hoffmanns, or later ones. Maybe one day. I do live that bicycle day print.


I could never do 450-500mics in a theater, wow. Haha. Well I hope it made the movie much better for you! I am going to see it tomorrow, however the most I'll be pre-loading with is some cannabis.

 

so how would you describe the difference between 3 hits vs 6 hits?
i guess i am always worried about bodyload or negative effects increasing. i mean, with LSD, there are not many, but i do tend to get some significant jaw tension sometimes, as well as a weird hollow feeling in my gut after the trip.

the time I took a ten strip was okay, but it got difficult because one of my idiot friends literally kept asking me the same question over and over and over again ... I WANT OUT OF THIS loop. I think he was barred out ... so me and this girl ended up taking me somewhere else for a while away from him.

 

Getting arrested on 20 tabs? Fuck that man, if I can't handle the new Star Wars on 5-ish tabs, I don't even want to think about 20 tabs and being arrested, haha. That must have been wild.

I agree with the gut feeling after LSD. But I find all psychedelics tend to make my GI feel weird. However, most of the serotonin receptors in the body are located in the myenteric plexus (the so-called "third brain" down in the layers of the GI). It seems to me that serotonin ties a link between mood/hunger or perhaps just more generally between brain and GI. Anyway, I digress.

The difference between 3 and 6 tabs for me is mainly in the energy it gives me. 3 tabs is certainly very visual and mentally powerful, but at those doses (1-3 tabs) I mostly just get to a stage of confusion. Then when I took 6 tabs, I felt confusion at first, however after focusing on my guitar for a while I managed to hold on long enough for the euphoria to hit. It's like the experience matures to a new level at higher doses. I feel far more euphoric and "free", for lack of a better description for it. Like I can fully explore the LSD headspace rather than being stuck in transit for a while and then going home.

And the visuals at 6 tabs vs. three tabs is certainly a difference. 6 tabs was the first time I had an experience with LSD where I had proper open eye visuals. With my eyes open, patterns were swirling and moving about, nice colours and kaleidoscopes. But when I closed my eyes and focused I had some amazing visuals.

Then at 12 tabs the mental and the visual game change, at least IMO. At 6 tabs I was still very much "in control" and experiencing things from my own point of view. Then at 12 tabs it felt like I was blasted out of my body, out of the house I was in. And then it really matters very little if your eyes are open or closed in terms of visuals, haha.



Lots of people claim Magnesium really helps with the jaw clenching. I never really have big problems with my jaw other than on MDMA, when I turn into a jaw clenching beast.. lol. One other interesting thing about 12 tabs versus 6 was how abruptly the most intense part of the trip ended. Around 6-8 hours after dropping it was like someone had flicked a switch and the most powerful part of the trip was over. Instantly, most of "me" was present again, and I was just left feeling immensely clean on the inside, and with the most delicious visuals.

..Typing all this out has me thinking of trying some LSD soon, haha.

i don't know why, but i guess i am just nervous to take more than 3 or 4 hits. or to increase dose of psychedelics in general past a certain "sweet spot." but any long-time member here knows that about me by now

but it doesn't make logical sense. the times when i have eaten 3 or 4 good hits (or two very strong hits) i've had amazing trips. way better than 1 or 2 weaker hits would be, and without an increase in body load. i've even thought on some of those relatively higher doses things like "why did i think that more would be a bad thing?!"

one of these days i should find the time and the courage to eat 5 or 6 and see what happens...

 

Yep, it is worth the experience! I agree about having trouble trying to increase dose sometimes. It's often a daunting task, and even if I feel mentally calm I will tend to get some body tremors and physical anxiety. But like you said, once it kicks in there is usually no problem.

I think it's normal to feel anxious to some degree anyway. Basically, unless I'm taking psychedelics on a whim I'll tend to feel anxiety at some point during the preparation stage. But, then the flip-side is that taking psychedelics on a whim may cause some real anxiety during the trip if you end up in a situation you don't want. So I tend to try to push through that initial anxiety and just go for it.

 

Yeah ... it was kinda shitty ... the metal jail toilet was communicating with me telepathically and had a face and personality, but I was really too out of it to know what was really going on, but do remember at some point thinking that I was in jail for capital murder or something (possibly being framed) and would get life in prison lol. Also may have had some g in a water bottle, they suspected it might not have been "water" but didnt' have a way to test for it. I got out the next morning, after coming down.

I'm use a little more moderation these days and better judgement, when I do do drugs (which is pretty infrequent these days, save for some pharmaceuticals that I actually need for legitamate issues), I leave them at home if I go out, and don't keep huge amounts around or carry drugs around that I can't "consume".

This was a long long time ago ... like almost a decade it seems.

 

this chick we knew back in the days of the DEAD, she stole my friend ticket and he wasnt going to go, but I told him he could get in and he did find a ticket wasnt sold out still some at the stands. well she probably stole it to trade for lucy and she did.. but the kicker when she was driving home and got pulled over. ate a 25cent piece, she was also driving no license and drinking, straight to jail.. well it become a classic conversation piece for us after that show, we also seen her car on the side the road being pulled over. crazy its not a venue thats heavy police and just happened to nab her..

 

i don't drive when I'm fucked up .. not worth it.

 

I like getting stoned and calling a cab, cab rides are fun...
