    Mmmm candyflip! Sounds nice.

Some of you might be interested in this:

"Serotonin 5-HT2A receptor activation induces 2-arachidonoylglycerol release through a phospholipase c-dependent mechanism"

    http://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1111/j.1471-4159.2006.04173.x/full

As you may or may not know, 5-HT2A receptors are often activated by hallucinogens. 2-arachidonoylglycerol is an endocannabinoid of the body. So basically, when you take a hallucinogen it seems that it triggers your body to start producing endocannabinoids. It may be part of the reason for the effects of psychedelics. I thought it was pretty interesting anyway!

nice..i was thinking 2-AG was an endocannabinoid.
i'm kinda surprised that the two "systems" (psychs and endogenous cannabinoids) are linked, since the effects of psychedelics and cannabis are drastically different.

just a matter of improper setting i think. i can't really be having day trips anymore. i need to save my psychedelics for adventures away from home, like camping or something. or at least at night time when my responsibilities are fewer.

i had a stressful situation come up, which i kind of over-reacted to, and then couldn't shake the bad feelings from it for a while.

i did get a chance to listen to the new Built to Spill album, while laying on my couch and staring at a painting that a friend gave us at a wedding gift. it was morphing in that pleasant way we all love. i was also getting some intricate CEVs, with the sun shining through the window and through my eyelids, i was seeing geometrical, square patterns in reds, oranges, and pinks, dancing around to the music.

the most interesting effect i noticed, was when i would SLOWLY open my eyes, it was like i was painting or creating my environment. the act of opening my eyes slowly felt like i was "doing" it.

really good, "clean" acid that i can't wait to take in a more appropriate setting, at a little higher of a dose.

The after-glow of a psychedelic trip feels like it could be related to endocannabinoids perhaps. That extreme anxiolytic feeling I've gotten on the come down of trips feels somewhat like the consumption of copious amounts of cannabis.

Sounds like a decent trip though, Pork. I enjoy looking at stuff I've acquired sober while tripping.. it generally gives it more meaning and I feel like objects are more personal once I've tripped around them. I'm sure you'll think of acid when you see that painting now :)

Sorry for your loss Thismoment, and I'm very happy you were able to be there for her and with her in her last days, and that they were filled with love and the labor of love.

May be visiting my friend Lucy this week. I think the last time I visited her was back in 2012 (really? yeah I think so!)! I will be going to the same setting (a certain cabin) where I had my very first trip 4 years ago, and also I will have the chance to introduce a friend to Lucy.
    Wish me luck!

Anyone got plans for the summer?

I want to take a hike to Mt. Elbert in Colorado and reach the top! I don't know much about hiking a 14er but it's supposed to be about 8 hours from the bottom to the top and back. I need to take advantage of the summer rockies! Anyone around the area wanting a good nature hike should come along! I'm sure some psychedelic goodies could create a magical experience! I've always wanted to meet a bunch of you guys. That'd be cool to come together and trek the mountain!

    Yeah it would be.

Bump for some Mescaline today. My first experience with stuff I did not personally grow and extract myself.

Have a great time. Most other years I'd be interested, but this year it looks like the Sierras for me, You might get some interesting (non-psy) information from the Rockies section of the of backpacker.com forum.

From Summit Post: There are five main routes to the summit, the two most popular and easiest are the South Mt. Elbert Trail and the North Mt. Elbert Trail, both being well trodden class one trails. These relatively easy paths to the summit are busy in the summer, attracting all types of hikers and climbers, young and old. Like any high peak, weather, altitude, and personal ability must be considered before attempting Mt. Elbert. But with a little preparation and planning, Mt. Elbert offers a wonderful climbing and outdoor experience. The most important thing to remember about climbing this mountain (or any other in Colorado) is to start early....like sunrise....to avoid dangerous afternoon storms. If you see dark puffy clouds building, turn around and get off the mountain.

Another thought that may apply only to me: mountains, wilderness, and related are good places to trip, but not with any hiking to speak of. You may have to hike to get to a good place though. Good to find a sheltered space with good views (but soon you'll be creating your own views), water, and not many people around - though once you get past the day-hikers, almost everyone you meet on the trail is nice and usually someone I'd be happy to know. I've tripped in the Sangre de Cristos, the Wind Rivers, Big Bend, and other wilderness areas. Once in New Mexico we were accosted by the irate owner of the land right by the national forest. 2c-e and a pissed off cowboy. YeeHaw.

I'm going to message you with a copy of something written by someone who has lived in CO and WY all his life and is a real outdoorsman and a good guy.

So you find a good place, get your tent set up, fill all your water bottles and whatnot, air mattress inflated, sleeping bag laid out - basically get all your shit totally together, then trip.

Hiking, cooking, and other side trips just distract from the trip.

Waiting to set up camp may result in something like this:
