i haven't tripped with my camera lately, but here are some pictures from when i was "antler hunting" with my dad and brother.

being out in virtually undisturbed nature can be borderline psychedelic

^ All really cool pics... I like that 2nd Pic in particular with thinking about tripping in mind. Being from California, they all look pretty surreal.

I've ordered it. Judging from the chapter titles it should be a pretty nice read.

The book I've had my eyes on for a while now is The Antipodes of the Mind: Charting the Phenomenology of the Ayahuasca Experience. I actually found out about the author through an academic paper he wrote on metaphor & synesthesia. He's a cognitive psychologist and has some very interesting things to say about psychedelics & mind. Sadly the more obscure and academic the book, the more expensive it becomes.

bump for being happy. I just had Shiva tattooed on my leg and now he appeared to me in the form of Acid. His face is printed on the hits. (supposed to be 200 mic hits) and also got some dmt... aaaand I might have a girl to trip with this weekend. I'm gonna smoke the biggest spliff and send her a poetic message.... good times. (hope she didn't change her mind about me)
    Peace!

Edit: I just dropped a microdose and its snowing outside.

Bump for a short report on methoxphenidine:
(side note: I ingested a fucking HUGE dose both times, the redose potential of this chem is very high as, when taken orally, it comes on rather slowly).

    New Year's Day
A whole bunch of RCs arrived the previous day, my Christmas present to myself. I got 50x etizolam 1mg, 500mg methoxphenidine, 250mg nitracaine (this was a free sample.. fairly worthless IMO, I'd get better stimulation from chugging Red Bull and my nose wouldn't feel on fire), 1000mg 5-MeO-DALT and 2x 100mg bk-2c-B pellets :D
T+0:00 (about 5PM) dose 30mg in rizla paper. Settle down to watch anime.
T+0:45 nothing much happening, don't even feel slightly wonky. Dose another 40mg (see how already I'm compelled to redose?)
t+1:00 another 40mg down the hatch. Total dose so far, 110mg.
T+2:00-3:00 feeling pretty wonky, co-ordination is bad in the most fun of all ways. Warm fuzzies. This chemical is alright :) Not quite as far down as I'd like to be, so at T+4:00 I shove another dose down my neck. No idea how much, probably in excess of 100mg, bringing my total to 250mg, roughly 4 times the recommended dosage.
    ...
    Mistake.

t+?:?? I no longer exist. An automaton takes over my body, wandering around the house, crawling up the stairs, turning lights on and off. I wonder if I'm going to die. Loud sizzling noises are heard, like God is frying bacon with my head. Grand mal spasms twist my body, which I am only peripherally aware of. Universes collide around me, I create entire worlds from nothing.
About 3AM: manage to crawl into bed and swallow 2mg etizolam to try and sleep. Eventually drop off at 6.

In conclusion: dose once, then fucking hide your stash, seriously. Otherwise, 7/10 would dose again.

I think it'd be helpful for a lot of people to have something like a time-sensitive safe that would only allow you to open it after a predetermined amount of time that you personally choose. I couldn't figure out the correct keywords to find something like that on Google and I've never heard of it actually existing.

    Hey pork--
I will try to comment but it is so hard to make any judgments considering the tolerance factor.

23mg was my highest dose prior to the 26mg dose. The 20 mg, 23 mg, and 26mg doses were all spaced a week apart, so as I say tolerance plays a role. Setting is also huge. The 20 and 26mg trip were both undertaken with my buddy C, whereas the 23mg trip was alone. Also, unlike the previous two, at the plateau of the 26mg trip I also smoked some weed.

At both the 20 and 26mg doses, I reached a point where conversation was very difficult....with the 26mg dose this effect was stronger and lasted longer (and was surely exacerbated by the addition of marijuana). Since the 23mg dose was solo, I had no perception of diminished communication abilities.

If I was going to try comparing levels, I would say the 23 and 26mg trips felt about the same, the 20mg trip slightly lighter and more functional, but still plenty tripping. The 26 was really positive and enjoyable, because we had such fun watching the Dead and hanging out. The 20mg trip was compromised by poor setting choices, and the 23mg was alone in my room which is always a different can of worms. I would say there was no difference between the three in terms of intensity or duration of visuals.

    IN OTHER NEWS
My tripping career is at an end for a few months. After liberally sprinkling my friends and associates with Miprocin for their future use, I have stashed the remainder of my supply for later retrieval. I am going on a (drug-free, marijuana-free, television-free, facebook-free) YOGA RETREAT for three months! Wish me luck and I'll be back in the psychosphere come summer!

My dad was actually telling me about this not too long ago. He called it a "Willpower Lock box" but I'm not seeing anything with that. Googling. 'Timed lock box' will turn up a couple of results

I enjoyed Manifesting Minds, It's comprised of articles, essays, and journal notes. Given that the book was released by MAPS, which focuses on Psychedelic Science, I was surprised at some of the topics covered, which are outside the realm of science. The articles range from fairly intense scientific psychotherapy notes which may require a rudimentary understanding of psychology/pharmacology to appreciate to articles which are not much different than trip reports on here. Some of the chapters which aren't really Science oriented may have a similar vibe where they are probably best appreciated with some knowledge in the field.

The book seems to capture various viewpoints, for instance one article seems to dismiss raves and psychedelic rock as settings where psychedelic realizations, growth can take place (which I took issue with) but then there is an interview article with Simon Posford, the producer/dj of Shpongle where he talks about how psychedelics influence his music and how it seems to draw a like minded audience. I think the varied viewpoints is quite indicative of how psychedelics effect people, and it is interesting to try and capture a comprehensive view of these experiences, yet I felt as at times it was kind of difficult to get a firm understanding of topics due to the varied viewpoints, which I thought may be more difficult for those reading this book and looking to get some direction as they begin to explore psychedelics or persuading those who may dismiss benefits of psychedelics. That said there are some really quality articles.

I was also surprised at some of the poly drug combinations touched upon, rarely do I read about poly drug combos in books on psychedelics and there are some pretty interesting reports from the few there. Another thing is the book has renewed my interest in exploring ayahuasca.

There are articles from several of the notable figures involved with psychedelics but as I mentioned this book is comprised of articles and such so there is not really any explaining of their work sans a few who are described in other articles, which again appeals to those of us who follow psychedelics and the important players in psychedelic history but will not give much reference to those who are new to psychedelics.

It's a book I feel which is primarily aimed at those who take psychedelics and have a interest in how they have and continue to shape culture. The various topics and articles which express how they relate to psychdelics, I found quite fascinating and it's interesting to realize the various realms of human activity which psychedelics have had an influence on.
