Atlanta is considered a local show to you? Isn't that in a different state? LOL That makes no sense to me.

And this is where I melt every fuckin time.

Bwhahaha just noticed the nice awkward string twang there. First time I have seen them that they didn't have the drummer from the opening band come out.

Reason it goes dark is bc the staff at that arena were being DICKS and kicking people out with their cameras and phones out.

Those fucking lasers from that run and the run in 07 were a nice touch.

Man, that takes me back. I had a fucking chance to see Skinny Puppy in Manhattan when I lived there but my damned friends weren't into it and twisted my arm that night into seeing Kill Bill at the theatre like four or five blocks away from where Skinny Puppy was playing. Shit do I ever wish I'd just ditched them and gone to the concert instead!

The album from which this song came, Too Dark Park, and The Legendary Pink Dots' album, The Maria Dimension, those were my two albums coming up in the world as a young acidhead.

You a fan of Ohgr as well? Pore is such a mindfuck tripping.

GB, That show was at the shittier of arena's (UNO Lakefront Arena). I really wish I could find a nice video from 07 when they played the New Orleans Arena but apparently cameras on phones excelled A LOT in those 3 years.

Oh yeah, I love all of the old industrial/experimental greats... Nurse with Wound, Current 93, COIL, Psychic TV, Ministry, Nine Inch Nails... I've gotten more into stuff like Do Make Say Think, Squarepusher, The Notwist, Olivia Tremor Control, Neutral Milk Hotel, Dntel, and a lot more obscure and underground stuff over the years, much more bent towards the indie rawk ethic and all, but I have my roots in good ol' fashioned industrial/experimental stuff. That and old hippie stuff too. Of late I've been really getting into drone more and more. I REALLY want to go to Terrastock one of these days!

Yah I noticed this as well, the HD phones are pretty legit, it's going to be interesting to see what the videos are like in a decade or so.

Me too. Got to see KMFDM on my 18th B-day. Was sang Happy Birthday to and everything, it was AWESOME! Also was into a lot of Black/Industrial Metal like Samael, Rotting Christ, Agathodaimon, The Kovenant. Adore EBM, Synth-Pop, Drag, Electro-Industrial too.

Hehe, Gwar, that brings back memories too. In HS I was into them, Dead Kennedys... things of that ilk, as I've gotten older I've just gotten way more into stuff like Sun Araw or Landing. I've also been delving into really interesting oldies like Cluster. My taste is all over the map, but most typically it leans towards the really heady shit that when you're tripping, you can lay on the floor with pillows and blankets and just get lost in the tapestry of sound.

Now Aphex Twin and Chemical Brothers I'll always have a soft spot for though :2thumbsup:

yeah man love some bright eyes! I think I saw them on the lineup for a couple of festivals this year, I need to try to hit up a festival or two.

I just realized my comment about obscure bands makes me sound like a snobby little hipster kid, lol. The bands I was referring to aren't even that obscure, just obscure enough to not be rockin huge arenas yet. I've seen monsters of folk (featuring conor oberst and mike mogis from bright eyes), my morning jacket, mgmt..those are the most recent shows i've seen at my favorite little venue in the hotlanta. I'm supposed to see a Flaming Lips show soon if I can find tickets.

I just remembered what ruined huge arenas for me. I hate Coldplay, but a friend of mine talked me into seeing them a few years ago at a huge outdoor venue outside of Raleigh, NC...All the frat boys from Duke U. were out in full force that night, I didnt care for the music but I couldn't even hear the music over all the drunk guys getting crazy, I got beer spilled on me a couple of different times, I couldn't see anything because I was so far away from the stage and I'm pretty sure I was standing behind Duke's basketball team lol, buncha 6'5 guys. Maybe I should give arenas another chance with another band lol.

I KNEW someone was gonna say something of the sort. LOL I didn't like all those Satan worshiper, racist black metal bands. Most of them all sounded the same and had no talent.

Great bands you have listed there!

Consider yourself lucky, :p Nah Coldplay is alright, they certainly aren't my favorite band either but I think they are a band that will hold up fairly well throughout time, kinda sorta like a U2 even though they don't really sound alike, Sucks your evening was ruined.

I saw Bright Eyes in a space about the size of a typical suburban home's living room, I guess that makes me an uber-indie snob, lol. MGMT, My Morning Jacket, The Flaming Lips... those are all some of my faves too. Do you like Band of Horses or Rogue Wave?

I've seen The Flaming Lips a few times, they really live up to their larger than life, beautiful stage presence/theatrics/personalities.

I would say you ought to give festival or arena shows another go; around the time that The Black Crowes put out Shake Your Moneymaker, I saw them for that tour, and at one point they brought down a gargantuan banner that was green with a big fucking pot leaf and the whole auditorium toked up literally on the spot at once. That was something else!
