Holy crap! Okay, yes Haldol and Haloperidol are the same thing.

And, yes, tardive dyskinsia is a long-term, PERMANENT side effect of using these. Symptoms include uncontrollable tounge, mouth and facial movements and it does not look good. Quit taking the drugs for life and guess what, you still have these symptoms, . . . for life.

Guerillabedlam, i'd positive rep you if i could for the pukey face on anti-psychotics. i feel the same way about SSRI's.

Psychiatric meds suck! Take it from someone who's taken her share. i'd rather be a crazy cat!

Its impossible to play checkers with someone taking Haldol.. I know -worked in mental hospital. Shame..

 

When I was researching the medical dangers of LSD one study claimed that a patient that had been a subject of LSD therapy had developed severe problems from his exposure to LSD. His was one of the cases that those against LSD therapy cited as proof about how dangerous it is.
That is until it came out that the man had been on anti-psychotics like Haldol for 15 YEARS!
Needless to say that study was completely discredited.

 

Wow! How typical is that? God forbid we look at the frakking pharmacy of other drugs and booze that is typically present in people who "die" from psychedelics at the time of death . . .

 

Haloperidol (what i'm going to refer to it) sucked the fucking life out of me. Nothing remotely worthwhile about that stuff, there was no buzz worth anything and the day after was completely apathy, an uphill battle just to keep awake throughout the day, UGGGH no thanks.

I don't know if you are joking or not Orison but I didn't find the slight calmness or peace of mind or whatever you want to call it worth it, maybe I did not have as bad as symptoms as you do.
