I hate to say it but that statement made you sound like your on the same level as all of the sheep roaming about this country doing what society tells them to do. Only the society you're listening to is the counter society. Herasing military only brings hatred out of those men and women, hatred for the country that they are laying their life on the line for. Wouldn't it do so much better to give them a hug, and pray/meditate for them to do what is right? But instead you provoke hatred and violence....everything that is wrong with society. I pray for you my friend, that you find love and happiness that so few ever see.
Say superusername, how about grabbing a dictionary and using it when you do a posting. You'll get a lot more respect if you're words are speled korectlie! Now I don't mind you hassling the recruitment guys. More power to you. But demonstrating to soldiers is like talking to your dog's ass. Most of these guys won't have a clue what you're talking about if you use words longer than one syllable. That's why they became soldiers -- they could never cut it on civvy street. If you don't believe me, go to www.military.com and read what the soldiers themselves post. Not only that, and fortunately for the rest of us, no one listens to what soldiers have to say. Demonstrate to your congressman, or donate to someone who is already doing so, and knows how to spell.
Soldiers don't do what is right, they do what they're told. And like I said in the previous posting, most of them barely have the brains to do that much. Go to www.military.com and see what the grunts have to say about Darrell Anderson or Ivan Brobeck. As for hatred and violence, soldiers are taught hatred and violence from the moment they take that step forward and join up. How about praying and meditating for the victims of official U.S. violence around the world. By the way, the Americans tried to enslave me as a soldier in 1971. I told them to shove it up their ass, and was jailed for that. But I never served the war machine.
Start with yourself believe in yourself don't damage other peoples veiws have your own and stick it. If anyone can change the world let it be our generation and let it be true we don't need any more lies. Lets gets movement.
Dirty Dog nice message about war will caese when men refuse to fight.. All in good points but your still fighting with a person on a computer. Let therm have there opinion how on earth would we change the way they think sweetie if we could control this the there would be no war. Don't let you opinion make you a fighter as well. Know that all you need it you beliefs in your head thats what makes a diffwerence.
Thanks, easylivin. You've got a point. I went to a workshop hosted by National Coalition Building Institute, and the presenters focused on trying to empathize with the opponent in a debate. This was with regard to issues resulting from that long ago southeast Asian conflict. I was imprisoned for refusing military service in the United States at that time (1971). My philosophy is, always be nice to a pig who is carrying a gun, or in jail, who is carrying a billy club. The pigs sometimes try to be nice too, but no matter how much they try, they still stink like pigs. Sometimes the best way to educate the pig is by taking the shit he is handing out and shoving it straight back in his face. I hope I'm not being too diplomatic about this. I'll bet you've got a really nice, hot summer day in New South Wales right now. Got your bikini on? Here in Medicine Hat, Alberta, Canada, it's snowing with a moderate wind, but not very cold: about +20 F.
i know this shouldn't matter, but i live in alaska and during winter it's way cold so i havn't really gone out. it shouldn't hold me back, tho. but lately we have had some pretty harsh winds which made chill factor like -30 F. i'll make it out soon tho.
Thanks, easylivin. No need to organize, demonstrate, ring doorbells or vote. Put your feet up, watch TV, focus on the beliefs in your head. George W. and friends will magically see the error of their ways, put their guns down, and go back to East Texas to raise cattle and grow alfalfa. I have dreams like that, usually accompanied by a penetrating conversation with Lisa Kudrow or Sophie Marceau. (Do a Google image search for further info.) Then the alarm goes off.
Praying for the victims of U.S. violence isn't going to do anything to stop the violence. While your efforts are spent aiding said victim, another will appear behind your back. Would it not be more profficient to focus on eliminating the cause, rather than only on the effect? Either way, it dosn't matter. Don't think twice, it's allright.
