It is a heavily managed, centralized, corporatist, crony capitalist system built around monopolies. It has nothing to do with so-called free market capitalism.
Yes it does. The free market is the idea that a laissez-faire I don't care, invisible hand economic approach to solving social conflict and bettering the lives of people is best. It's best if governments don't intervene into the affairs of business, of monopolies, of corporatism, etc. That's what free enterprise is. It means that the freer the enterprise, the better the chances of improving wealth and being happy without less restrictions from the governments.
Well, you've been living under a rock if you believe that's what we have, because all we have seen in the past two months is non-stop government intervention. Who is it benefiting? The banks, of course. Who loses? The people.
Yeah. Big businesses, corporations and lobbyists are badgering governments to stay out of economic affairs, to let the markets take care of themselves with little intervention. They want to by-pass tariffs and taxes be able to limitlessly trade with any other business, no matter what country and war efforts/political implications surround that nature of trading business. Like NAFTA for example. The companies put pressure on the governments to by-pass and overrule certain existing federal laws in favour of revamping them, dressing them up, and allowing a greater flow of goods to be traded within as many countries as possible. There is a global trend that countries are selling off their national programs in favour of freer markets for monopolized businesses to compete. You remember how CNN rail was sold, Petro Canada, Air Canada, etc.? All those nationally funded public services are being sold off for a lump sum and handed over to the private sector. Instead of the Canadian government using money from people who pay at the pumps to patch up roads or invest in universal childcare programs they are selling national programs to the highest bidder. And that's free enterprise capitalism.
Yeah. That's what capitalism is. It's the accumulation of wealth for the many who can achieve it. Which rock are you hiding under?
But most of the politicians are already paid off, so the politicians and the government they are part of work for the corporations. When the corporations control the government, that is corporatism, which is the same thing as corporate fascism. Yes, they are privitizing, which is not free market since it's corporate-driven. This is monopoly capitalism controlled by the few for the benefit of the few. Exactly. Again, you are failing to note the differece between corporatism and the non-existent free market system. No, that is corporatism.
You're not listening. What we have is the accumulation of wealth for the FEW (not many) that have the power to accumulate such wealth, which is the corporations that in turn control the state and buy off all the politicians. It is CRONY capitalism.
