If it passes i guess we'll get to see how much the gov fucks over marijuana smokers by taxing the shit out of it.. is it gonna be worth it if an oz costs the consumer $600? guess we'll see what the new cost of freedom is if and when it passes

Well I guess if it's overtaxed it will allow for the continuation of the "black market trafficking" as per norm and then all sides will be happy (Aside from the anti-legalization puritan fuckheads who think their theological beliefs should have any basis for how the rest of us live our lives.)

i.e. there are still plenty of rum running moonshiners in this ****ry dodging the revenuers at every opportunity, just a shitload less than there were during the prohibition era.

I'm sure they'll impose a license or something and it'll still be illegal to grow/sell without the license, kinda like a liquor/beer license. There will be restrictions, but it's still a step in the right direction.

It should be less than the tax on tobacco.

if marijuana is legalized in california it is totally on the fact that marijuana can help pay off california's debt.. since thats what growers have been telling politicians in california for the past couple years.. meaning they WILL tax the shit out of it.. ya get what you ask for

you don't need a license to grow tobacco at home.. nor do you have to pay taxes.. i think the same would hold true for those who would wanna grow their own

Maybe, after a few years. I think there will be hella restrictions and regulations at first though. Of course, that's not gonna stop people from doing it, but I'm sure they'll still have lots of laws regarding marijuana production and distribution.

Dr. Jorja Leap, adjunct professor of social welfare at UCLA who also works with the Los Angeles City Council's ad hoc committee on gangs, agreed that gang members and their families moving from Los Angeles to Southern Nevada play a part in the rising gang shootings and violence.
But she said there are other factors at work too, such as the lack of family networks or established social services available for young people. This shortage leaves kids at greater risk for problems with drugs, violence, sexual activity and gang activity.
"I think it's too easy to blame Los Angeles. While there is a certain amount of migration, it's not the total problem," she said.
Teens are also becoming more violent nationwide, she said..

I was gonna add a comment but i was high.. ;)

Well for MMJ, the California Supreme court killed limits all together, but from what I read there was discussion of allowing for 25 sq. ft. of garden space for growing. Wonder what they'll do about trellised gardens? And will they include the walkways between the rows in the garden area in that as well?
