He is a genius. I think I read that arms thing in the wiki along with how he used a lot of microwaved bubblegum. I have learned a lot from wiki about producing.

 

There’s actually an alternative ending where MacReady and Childs go back inside and test each other to see who’s the thing

 

They may not have filmed that unless Childs turns out to be the thing. I wonder!?

 

They didn't film it but it was one of the alternative endings the producer, writer, and the director discussed
