Yeah, I got a sms from mine a couple weeks back whilst on holidays, the dialogue went something like this:

"My google isnt working, is that the same as the internet?"
Turn your wifi on mum
"But Im at home" (thinking you only do wifi at cafes)
Settings-> first line, press the button next to wifi, blue means its on

 

Yep--although that sounds more like my grandfather.

I also spent 20 minutes explaining what a meme was to my dad the other day. I had to send him examples and it was a challenge to find ones on my phone that weren't totally inappropriate.

And yet I had a great aunt I lost a couple years ago that was sharp as a tack, 92 before she died sending me links to recipes ( and links to stories about STD alerts sometimes even )

So i dont know what it is, its not just about being old

 

60's, but still...it was quite the entertaining conversation.
