[I'm new here so please forgive me, but don't take this as being offside or anything I'm just being a little exuberant =)] You have got to be kidding me. Sure Ontario isn't the 'party destination' of Canada, but don't completely bad mouth Ontario. You say Toronto is cool?! You just didn't experience Ontario in the right places.

#1: Toronto is cool, if you like dnb and house music.
#2: BC may be great and all, but unless you fit into a 'category' you're shunned. Example: going to the Kootenay Co-Op without a reusable bag will get you beaten up.
#3: Until you've been to a CTMF [http://www.cometogethermusicfest.ca/] you haven't partied in Ontario, sorry, but it's true. Walking around with a bong in one hand, three hits of LSD on your tongue, and listening to Wassabi or Superstack from the saloon is a party.
4: How DARE you compare Canada to the United States of Corruption. You mean to tell me Oregon has more party than here? I dunno about that one man, I'd have to see it to believe it. Where's Nuit Blanche, where's the Marijuana March with 28,000 people, where's the chronic in Oregon?
5: Oh yea, if you're into anything OM... there's a rather large OM group in Ontario that has 3-4 parties during the summer season. Probably the best organized small parties in the area, usually a week long gathering with workshops and music.

Ontario may be the most conservative province outta the whole lot of 'em, but once you forget about that and find the party it really doesn't matter. I just fail to see your point of view. I know for a fact I don't have to travel 3000+k to have a good time. As well as the largest psytrance party in Canada one province to the right in Quebec.

I will agree, BC is beautiful, and they may have a couple good parties[Shambhala being the only one that comes to mind], BUT... while staying in Nelson/Salmo whatever, don't expect to get any mind blowing psychedelics. Any time I had some MDMA there the shit was bunk.

Wow, I can't believe someone said Toronto was cool. You shoulda been there last week before the garbage strike was finished. Go to any public park and it was filled with tons of garbage, literally.

mmmm looks good, you shoulda seen the nice brown/green phosphorescence liquid seeping into the ground, way to go Mayor Miller, I bet it took a whole consulting firm to think up that idea. "OHHHH YEA, WE HAVE TOO MUCH GARABGE, LETS JUST PUT IT IN THE PARKS WHERE KIDS USUALLY PLAY, THATS SAFE, OHHH I AM SUCH A GOOD MAYOR, GIMME A RIMJOB."

I would consider Peterborough to be more hip than Toronto.

Next time you're in Ontario here are some places to check out sorted by season.

    Winter:
Not many outdoor parties in the winter, considering most of Ontario is covered in at -least- a foot of snow.
    Duntroon Bluffs for hiking/caves
    poaching Craighleigth skiclub
    Blue Mountain for a party/ski/snowboard

    Spring:
    CTMF big party

    Summer:
    Caribana - BIG PARTY
    pride - HUGE PARTY
    CTMF bigger party
    OM - awesome vibe
    teknival - diy party
Sauble Beach - fuck wasaga, although i still love it
    loseyershoes - rad vibe
WEMF - if you're down with that.

    Fall:
Nuit Blanche [Toronto/Montreal/other places] BIG PARTY.
CTMF biggest party - awesome vibe!!!!!!
harvest festival - same deal as above

yea, those are some things to check out while planning for your next trip to Ontario (if you even wanna come back, plus Ontario is full of assholes like me, hahahahha fuck.) ... I know where all the cool people are in Ontario.

Thanks! likewise man, and that skateboard looks like a fucking riot, please explain...

lol. yeah my partner is carazy! He loves doingh technical stuff with his single speed non suspension bike! He gloats over the fact that he can pass up most geared bikes on the trail. His favorite part of riding is going uphill too! I dont get it. I always feel highly inadequate when we ride together cuz I have a geared and he's always having to stop and wait for me on hilltops and stuff!

yea probably not. it's not like i've ever been there before.

actually, re-reading what i wrote, i only mentioned two things about bc, and that's being shunned in the co-op for not having reusable bags, and that the mdma in nelson was bunk. both observations were witnessed first hand, so actually yea, i do what what i am talking about.

It is intense! I honestly dont know how he does it. I have a hard enough time on a geared! =] The other day we went on a trail that was covered with loose rocks...not gravel...but actual loose rock chunks. Granted Im a rookie but I had to get off and walk it after falling twice [lol]....he rode right through it as if it were a paved road. Bastard! =] Do you ride?
