I can be pretty useless with faces. In the past, I've been speaking to someone for hours. Then a day or more later I see them in the street, and Im thinking "hmmm do I know that person..?"

I'm well below average in remembering faces. Infact, I can remember a voice better, in many cases (and not even an unusual voice or accent).

I think there is an explanation for failing to recognise faces.. altho I dont know what it is...

I can logically put together a face, with work. But its like the intuitive side is a bit missing..

 

I was really fucked up when I made this thread last night. I don't know what I was thinking. I got blackout drunk on port wine and beer. Not good, but fortunately I didn't puke or anything. It's been YEARS since I have gotten that drunk. I couldn't even see straight.

Apparently, if Im shit at facial recognition I could also have one of these..

carbon monoxide poisoning, temporal lobectomy, encephalitis, neoplasm, right temporal lobe atrophy, trauma, Parkinson's disease, and Alzheimer's disease.

Hmm, so I could be a spastic, or been abducted by aliens and given a lobotomy...

I did when I woke up, yeah.

I didn't puke or anything, but then again I never do. I was fine after I got up, drank some water and ate something. I'm still feeling a little weak and tired.

 

I'm bad with faces. I recognize people by their hair, body, body movements, general mannerisms. In high school I could recognize someone from a mile away by the back of their head because I spent so much time walking behind people in the halls and sitting behind them in rows in class.

When someone I don't know very well drastically alters their hair it can take a minute for it to click that it's the same person.

I have most excellent facial recognition as I was a Magpie in a previous incarnation.I can visualise anyone in my mind after just seeing them once.This works great for sexual fantasy.Incidentally nature creates faces that are asymmetrical.If you synthesise or use mirrors on yourself to create a perfectly symmetrical face,it will look extremely odd.The great artists throughout history knew this and worked small asymmetries into their work so as not to offend God.
