Here is Sweetness our Malamute, with my baby girl, Sage. Sweetness was about 4 or 5 months old. Sage was 4.
_Maggie Sugar, he -I hope is a he & I am not insulting Sweetness- is adorable! Looks really sweet too, is that the reason behind the name?
It's OK, no insult taken. He is named for Walter Payton of the Chicago Bears, whose nickname was "Sweetness" because he looked so sweet and was such a ferocious football player. My dh (Bear) said we we got him, "Don''t call him "Sweetie" it's too femmie." Well, of course we call him "Sweetie." In Malamutes, we have learned the boys have sweeter temperments than the girls. We had two girls and they were......female dogs......er you know. Sweetness is as darling as a dog can get. He likes to play rough with the two middle kids, and my dh, but is gentle as can be with our little one, and with small children in general. Small animals are an other story. He sees them as "unauthorized snacks." That's a Malamute.
_I've never seen a Malamute before. I live in eternal summer & sunshine so they wouldn't be appropriate for our weather.
