I love doing this in the snow. Just below freezing, as was said. For short stints. But longer stints are possible in spring, when the old snow is retreating and the sun is high. Or when new April snow is fallen and the sun is high. I find I can walk (and work) for very long periods barefoot in these spring conditions.

I've posted about the dangers of frostbite before. VERY short times outside bare when the cold is extreme.

This is fun! Thanks for creating this, Boogabah! :sunglasse

Now, for a photo essay, titled...

    Why I Prefer Barefooting:

This is the "evil one"(my shoe):

    It's size, women's 5 US (3 UK, 35 Euro methinks....)

And my bare foot vs. a women's size 5:

That's the smallest I could fit my high arch in to, so you can see where length and width tend to be issues for me. And why I prefer to do without every chance I get!

    Ciao!

Yeah, my feet are small for a guy my height (pics earlier in this thread) but it is so nice seeing someone else, a guy, closer to my age barefooting and with a toe ring!

So I noticed, you seem to like to go bare legged as I do. I've always liked the way my leg length and foot size seemed to exaggerate each other; always felt it made for an interesting aesthetic. :sunglasse

And in excellent shape, too. I just couldn't resist the David/Goliath analogy, with the way the posts followed one another and the disparity in size.:p

But hey! To me, that's what this thread is about; celebrating diversity and having fun doing it! ;)

    Ciao!

Little. Cute. A bit dirty. My feet aren't too bad looking. And they don't smell either.

    Hee Hee! I take a size range too...children's 2 to a women's 5 depending on the fit... :&

The quirky part is that I'm not that short! I'm 5'11! Go fig!

Anyhoo, here's a couple of shots of my bare foot vs a mens' size 12 (which I found in a dumpster on a barefoot garbage run....guess someone else doesn't like shoes either!):

WOW! Your feet ARE tiny, but to me it does not matter, feet are great wheather they are big or small! BTW, is there any medical explaination for their size?

    Just curious

Firstly, I like the way you think.

As for your query, I do have foot problems...my tendons are way too short so my toes don't flatten out properly, plus I have a very high arch for the same reason. Fortunately, it's not debilitating, just looks kind of odd... :&

And as for YOU, boogie....I should try that just to see if I could! When I found those, wearing them never occured to me, I just thought it would be a fun idea for a couple of photos! :p

    Peace, y'all! ;)

I wear shorts all the time, all winter, only changing the length of the shorts in deep winter (longer) and adding foot wear as I work outside in the snow. Really, it not only feels better than most people imagine, it usually feels just wonderful. But there you go, I'm tactile sensitive, and most things feel wonderful to me. Of course, some cold is probably not right for working in shorts, but I still do short jaunts, errands, daily routines in shorts no matter how cold. I'm happy to hear you are another one! Most of Canada is cold, too. My part of Maine is probably closest to southern NB Province for climate.

You, also, live where there are barnacles! We do have them on the coast of Maine. And they do feel good under the feet, despite what people think, and for safety on slippery rocks, as you say, they're great.
