you know i'd actualy be curious to see what kind of a president he actualy would be. and i don't think anyone actualy knows one way or another. i really think peter cameo or jerry brown would be the best presidents if either of them could ever actualy get elected. the problem as i see it isn't whome, but getting anyone elected who would be any good at it once they got in. the closest that's ever come to happening in my lifetime was j.f.k. and goober, the guy ragun scamed out of there, my mind is blocking his name for some reason i can't even begin to immagine at the moment, the guy that started habitat for humanity. but at any rate, reguardless of race or gender, we need someone who is something other then claiming to be christian or even moslem. someone who is buddhist, taoist, agnostic, indiginous, whatever, something other then the excuses people are familiar with for finding ways to make things worse for everybody. if they break the race or gender barrier all the better, but it's the pseudoreligeon barrier more then anything else i think at this point needs to be broken. j.f.k. cracked it a little bit by being a catholic instead of a protestant, but only a little. not nearly enough. what we'll get, if the powers that be continue to have their way, will be another corporatocrat, maybe this time in liberal rather then so called conservative clothing. if the're generous enough to conceed to us even that much. and by us i mean the well being of the planet and the species and not just one idiological interest or another. =^^= .../\...
I hope it will be hillary clinton, cause then the US would finally have a female president, and she's loads nicer than arnold schwarzenegger - can't stand him... I think she has a quite good political attitude...
hillary is cool, but you know who i'd really like to see? gnome chomskey for president and howard zinn as his running mate. if they could get anything done at all, and i wouldn't short chainge them expecting expecting other then that they could, there's a pair that, if anyone, i would expect to see, could and would do what needs to be done and do it right. there are a couple of native american woman musicians whome i'm sure could and would do a better job then anyone we've seen. but i kind of doubt they'd really want the job. some of our local tribal elders were i live are pretty cool too. really the best poeple i can think of for the job, mostly no one has ever heard of. what it takes to run a campaign to get elected almost insures that no one really any good is ever going to stand a snow flakes chance in hell, unless and untill THAT is cainged in such a way that enables them to. untill that happens we won't have government of, by and for, the people, or anything else, other then the circular illogic of little green pieces of paper. unfortunately, not voting ISN'T counted as a vote of no confidence. the only way to cast one of those in this america today, is to vote third party. but hell, it the votes were and are fairly counted, no guarantee of that of course, but if it were to happen, and everyone who doesn't or hasn't voted in previous elections, were to all vote third party, there's an actualy real chance a third party candidate would get elected. guy named teddy rosivelt actualy did it once upon a time, no reason it CAN'T happen again. long shots are still long shots of course, but long shots do happen. i wish davis's governorship in california hadn't been torpedoed. he may not have been sexy, but he wasn't screwing up as bad as nearly all of them always do. same goes for carter as president. that's they guy i was trying to think of, i don't remember if it was here or where it was, when it was driving me up the wall that i couldn't. =^^= .../\...
Sorry, neither Grace Slick or Ken Kessey gets my vote (even if they are Democrat's 'Dream Ticket'). It's looking like Hillary Clinton or John McCain?.
>>By Mushie18: Barrack Obama.probably won't happen, though << I like that answer. I'd really like it to be either him, Condoleeza Rice, or Oprah Winfrey -she makes everything wonderful :sunny:
For me, this thread is indeed, a mind fuck. I cant say Im thrilled with any of these choices, and even the ones that dont seem so bad on top have some serious drawbacks when I look at em long term! Well placed in the proper forum indeed! What about Rudy Guliani? Im not saying I want him, but he may get a look when they run out the prospects next spring. I imagine there will be a host of also-rans being paraded up the flagpole to see who salutes. I did notice Grace Slick and David Lee Roth each got two write in votes - I cant say I think Diamond Dave would handle foreign policy very well! And Grace would be way too grumpy.
Hey--just so long as their last name isn't Bush, I don't care who sits in the Oval Office come 2008! LOL Personally, I'd like to see Hillary Clinton get it--it's about time a woman got elected President!
We should have either no presidents or 4 presidents, a kid, a teenager, an adult, and a senior. So that all laws would be fair for all ages. Fuck everyone in the government. All they favor are the rich people because the rich people bribe them, don't ask me how I know, I have my resources.
I noticed a lot of assholes in this forum... whoever made those Nazi/Racist/Sexist comments can go to hell. Hippies practive love, not hate. I'd pick Loretta Nall for president. Check out her myspace: www.myspace.com/lorettanall and www.lorettanall.com and http://nallforgovernor.blogspot.com/ She recently ran for governor of Alabama (where I live), and she wants to legalize pot! I voted for her. No news of her running for prez, yet, but I'm sure she has aspirations, and so do we, her supporters.
