As I believe in democracy, I'm told I let the different voices in my head decide which of my dinner guests should be made into lampshades. And which ones should be spared.

There's Mrs Hogsthwaite an elderly New England gentlewoman.
    Candy, a Californian cheerleader.
Nigel, an English tax inspector with a penchant for knitted cardigans.
Mikey, a living ventriloquist's dummy who escaped from his master.
And Mr Cholmley-Brown, a pipe smoking university professor, without a university.

Ofcourse, my psychiatrist is wrong. These are all real people...
After all, why would they leave their clothes at my house...?

As for on the phone...fuck knows..

When I'm at work i use more of a 'professional' voice...

When it's a guy that I'm flirting with it's more of a sexy tone.

When it's someone I don't want to talk to I sound really boring...

so yea, depending on who it is, my phone voice varies.

i don't think i do, but i know that my sister uses this really patronizing high-pitched voice when she's talking to people at work or calling to make an appointment somewhere...i fucking hate it, it's so fucking annoying because i know she doesn't normally talk like that...it drives me insane. =/

I think my tone changes as much on the phone as in real life.

It's just more apparent on the phone, because it's a drastic change, especially when I switch languages.

But I sound differently when I talk to my parents than when I talk to a friend, per example.

    I talk the same everywhere.

At home, school, my friends house.

I get in trouble at school a lot for "vulgar" language apperantly.

i don`t think so, but i am terrified to be around my mother when she speaks on the phone. i mean she has the most pinching, loud breaking voice ever and when she speaks on the phone it`s even worse. i mean you can hear her 10 floor higher or lower , she is like a siren out of control...it`s horrible!

I always thought a "telephone voice" was solely the product of social class based bullshit in England.

Anyway,so to answer the question I sound the same wherever/whenever.
Unless I meet road rage prick etc.And I just speak in a demonic 97% swear word type of way.

On the phone, cos u can't see a smile or non-verbals you *do* have to speak differently. But the idea of a "telephone voice"- according to the tradtional English definition is sthg that would make me pretty mad.
