Haha this is really old. I guess its different in different parts of the country/world. For me high is being on any drug really (except alcohol). Even on hallucinogens you are "high". Stoned is definitely when your just chilled out when you are high, or when you are coming down from X, shrooms acid etc. The different levels here for being high are buzzed, high, baked, blazed, then past that lots of things can describe it. Fryed, trashed, blitzed or just gone. hehe i like being gone

yah I totally agree on that.
you are "stoned" when ur comin down from the high and u feel like just dont wanna move or engage in any activity.
anyway I dont see anything wrong with callin the effects of weed "high" . when u smoke weed u feel light headed and euphoric. I think the word "high" is perfect to describe this feeling.

I don't use high that often in regards to weed. I think I most commonly use stoned.

I love the sound of that. I think I'm gonna start using that more often. It just sorta rolls off the tounge.. très gelée ... Oh yeah. I like that.

I don't know if anybody has mentioned this yet (too lazy to read through all the replies) but the word "high" is originally a term used by religious smokers - getting higher to God, Jah, Hashem, who/what ever you believe in.
I can't see it being a bad thing.
