Peak Oil - survey

    If you believe the oil supply is infinite, you might as well believe all of this.

    Seriously, who benefits if oil production wouldn't peak? The OIL companies. They can keep increasing their production and encourage MORE oil consumpution. As long as they pretend there's an infinite supply, countries will keep increasing and increasing their oil usage.

    Think about it. If we were told that there is only enough oil to last for one year, what would happen? Countries would begin to move AWAY from oil and look at different energy sources. The oil companies would suffer greatly, unless they have invested in alternative fuels. As long as oil companies tell us we have plenty of oil left, why would anyone reduce their oil consumption?

    Exxon's record profit isn't based on oil peaking; it's price gouging. I find it funny that a local gas station will be charged thousands of dollars for raising their prices "too high" but it's okay for large corporations- I think this is evident of the oil ties to the gov't.
