nope i havn't seen it. fear does indeed help us survive. but when you get past it, you can become so much more than that. here is the way i see things. i can't explain things nearly as well as others. so i'll quote a few phrases. "Crucial to maintaining the human psyche in disconnected ignorance is the manipulation of low vibration emotion, fear, guilt, resentment, dislike of self and condemnation of others, which in the end, are all expressions of fear. These are the very emotions, which resonate to the frequency range of the lower fourth dimension and once we succumb to domination by these emotions we succumb to the control of our R-complex, the reptilian part of our brain, which manifest as aggression, ritualism, a desire for hierarchical structure, and so on. Emotion of fear resonates a low vibration pattern, a long wavelength, while the emotion we call love resonates a high vibration pattern, a short wavelength. The genetic material of the human body is a highly sophisticated transmitter and receiver of frequencies. ... We have within us a series of micro-antenna called amino acids, which interact with the DNA and there are 64 potential human genetic codes or antenna to transmit and receive frequencies. In short, a potential 64 antenna to connect us with higher frequencies and higher dimensions of ourselves. But only 20 are activated while 44 remain switched off. This means that our ability to connect with our full power, wisdom and potential is massively undermined. No doubt the fact that we use only a fraction of our brain's potential is a consequence of this also. Research by the Institute of Heart Math and others in the United States has further shown that the 'antenna' on the DNA are activated or closed down by the wavelengths of emotion, which constantly pass through the DNA. The emotion of fear (from which all negative emotion derives) is a long, slow wavelength and so can only trigger a few of our potential antennas. But love (from which all positive emotion derives) is a fast, short wavelength and so sparks into action far more of these antennas." if your interested, here is the whole thing: http://blog.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=blog.view&friendID=85937390&blogID=242725723 it used to be hosted on aria invictus and a whole bunch of other mirrors but for some reason they all got messed up and the only one that works now is on myspace. it's a worthwhile read for anyone interested in philosophy. i was unsure of alot of this at first, but i have found that over time alot of it is extremely credible. i am not one to naively accept anything.
Then why is the history of this universe so cyclical? Why is everything so cyclical? There is no logical progression, because there is no logic to the universe and to reality; it just IS. You -choose- where you want to interact with it, through love, or through hate, but love is not "better" than hate, anymore than a shark is "better" than a goldfish. Again, fear is very important to all life. There is a reason you are programmed to be afraid of the saber toothed tiger. It's because if you see one, you're probably about to die. There is nothing inherently wrong with fear, nor is there anything inherently more amazing about love. In fact I don't even know if the two are on the same spectrum; fear is not the opposite of love, hate is. The problem with that is it's philosophy that attempts to explain phenomena medically, without empirical data; it's just sophistry. It speaks in the guise of critical thought and reflection of the real world, but really it's just a lot of pretty words to make you feel better, about "vibrations" and "reptilian brains" and other things that would make any true student of the human body laugh. It oversteps its bounds as a philosophical paper by attempting to speak on scientific subjects. Philosophy and science are not the same thing; the latter requires empirical data. It is also my opinion that you DO believe things quite naively, and it has to do with your misconception about critical thinking . . . you seem to think it somehow holds you back from some amazing universal truths, but all it holds you back from are silly ideas which have no bearing on the day to day reality you live in at all. It's a shame that it's so easy to prove things like "karma" by just selectively filtering your day and seeing the things which support it, but ignoring the things which deny it. Don't be afraid to say "I don't know, this sounds fishy. Until I get some truly concrete data I'm going to remain skeptical about this." I think you'll find it makes your mental closet space a lot less cramped. Again, it's a very pretty collection of words, but understand it has literally zero bearing on the human condition as far as the true study of the human condition is concerned. I wouldn't even call it philosophy, it really is just sophistry. It's the Obama speech of philosophy.
history of the human race is cyclical, not the universe. it is cyclical because it is the same set of events that can lead to liberation. as long as humans don't learn from their past, it will keep repeating itself. the vast majority of people do not learn from their past, thus it is cyclical. fear is important to life in it's infancy. there is no need for fear in higher states of consciousness. some critical thinking does hold you back from truth, and some critical thinking is necesary. it can't be applied to everything though. you could say that i think critically, about thinking critically.. my mental closet less cramped? hah, my mental closet is infinant!
