Patchouli...the good, bad and ugly

I wore patchouli to school today,and people told me I smelled Africanly Herbal...haha

 

I dig patchouli, great stuff!

 

I didn't like it before, but I went to a shop where all of the clothes had the most faint scent of it in the clothes. I don't know why but now I'm really drawn to that smell, and that shop. I don't wear it, because I've just never bought any, but I do love the smell. Maybe one day I'll buy some.

 

where do you get it at?

 

damn. my friends always says i smell like pimientas. do pepper and patchouli smell alike to some people? or what about pot? i burn nag champa and i got everyone saying "dude you smell like pot" too. they are vastly different smells, but pot is somehow on everyone's mind when they see me. pshah

 

I love wearing it. Once my friends mom told me that smelling it on me took it back to her younger days. =) People know I'm around when they smell it. My and my bff are lost without it.

 

I can't smell at all, but I use Peaceful Patchouli body wash from Kiss My Face. Does that smell bad? I'm paranoid now.

 

I love patchoulli, but it is very easy to overdo it.

 

Oh, I love patchouli--it has such an earthy smell--and it's one of my favorite scents! Once I tried this patchouli-lime body lotion--it smelled so good I almost didn't want to wash it off! LOL

 

It's crazy that this thread was at the top today.... I came to Body Care specifically to ask about different oils I could mix with patchouli!

I made a lavender-patchouli (my friend calls it Lavendouli) spray which I LOVE, but I'm wanting to either add one more scent or do a whole other one with patchouli.
I like patchouli because it smells so natural, & because it's long-lasting. I had made a straight lavender spray, but it would fade so quickly, so it's nice to have something that will stay longer.

I'm so glad that everyone's conciousness was tuned in to patchouli today!! I got a lot of ideas from this thread!

i kind of hate it. my mom told me about back in the 70's, it's what lesbians would wear so they could "sniff each other out"....
it's just too earthy smelling for me.

i don't know - it's not like i was around during this time but i really don't see why my mom would make this shit up. she's definitely not anti-gay or whatnot.

she says back in the day, she would go to bars and it was mostly lesbians that wore patchouli.

I like it, but I've been told it smells like dirt and cat pee too.
I don't wear it because my hubby hates it, but personally, I like it.
I do use some Kiss My Face Peaceful Patchouli shaving cream and body wash.
