Space bends, twists, moves, etc....It can do everything you can......To think of our universe as the only one, seems very two dimensional to me.
One theory I heard about was for each black hole on the opposite end is another universe. When a black hole feeds it keeps the universe expanding. When a new black hole is formed a "big bang" happens in a newly created universe.
What?? Mathematics can be applied to any and everything and is the most accurate and universal means of describing something. sheesh......
In all this discussion it seems we need new terminology considering the prefix "uni" means "one". If the is more than one universe, than it isn't really a "uni"verse anymore, now is it.
Not for the god particle....that drove Einstein crazy....the smallest of particles do whatever the hell they want to......and that is a good thing...one thing man cannot conquer, I feel.
The idea of parallel universes sounds fairly reasonable, however some of the ideas regarding parallel universes seem pretty silly. For instance, I've heard one assumption along the lines of pretty much every thought one has, happens to them in a different universe. It flies in the face of what we know about physiology, anatomy, and evolution to think that in another universe 'your' head just randomly fell off your neck.
I've been too busy thinking about parallel villages in relation to Georgia. I have more than thirty books about Space.
The double slit experiment tells us that a particle acts like a wave until it is measured, then acts like a particle of matter. So with that, it seems that until we can "measure' a parallel universe, we may never know. Now, we ''measure'' with our eyes every waking moment, so by then making the transition from wave to particle (matter), the difference being we are not "one" particle we are trillions, so to measure"" our "reality" is essentially "easy" with our eyes. That and it helps we have a giant plasma light source to help in the 'measuring' process by outlining and helping form the particles, much like light does to dust particles, you can't really see them until they hit the light source.
^ Sorry, hand types slower then brain thinks Short version, matter only becomes matter when "measured" until then it is a wave pattern eyes = measuring device The brain then translates the particles into a picture that we see. We don't "see' what our eyes measure like long division, it takes a few steps to get the answer The answer is in our heads, hence "reality" is not really "reality" we see what our brains tells us, not factual So if everything is essentially a vibratory wave, then a Parallel/ Multi verse cannot be "seen" until the "measuring" device is able to decipher it. Our eyes are not capable yet. All is my own take, after reading and TRYING to study/understand quantum and string. Brian Greene does a good job at explaining without the mind boggling mathmatics involved
Since string theory was generaly accepted by theoretical physist in the 7os The Idea of parralell universe(s) has been more science fact than fiction. Then came a pair of unknown physist who proposed that instead of 11 stings hanging in paralell that those strings were more like sheets hanging in a line. It differs from string theory in that sheets of membrane or just "Brane" make up the suposed nothingness of space. The discovery of dark matter which is beloved to make up more than 70% (I'm writing this from memory if you want exact figurs look it up--but I'm close) Matter only makes up a small % of the universe. And I'm lumping matter and energy as one. No one has considered time but I can see why. When Einstein presented his paper on "General Relativity" The world was turned inside out. Three hundred years of 'Neptunian' physics was called into question. Ironically Neuton was Einstein's hero. Apparently he was under great pressure to solve gravity and he was becoming a paranoid schizophrenic burning most of his original work for fear of being burned as a which -- witch was quite common because of the struggle between the church and Alchemy which was rapidly becoming science-in large part due to Isaac. It is thought that Neuton made up the apple story and then just made up the mathematical formula as proof. After all who would doubt Isaac. And no one did for 300 years until the meek Einstein who had a job at the patent office and could finish a days work in hours was doing what he called thought experiments-we mere mortals call it day dreaming--He was watching the painters on a 10 story building on the scaffolding. He wondered if the 150kl man wold hit the ground faster than the 34kl kid cleaning up. Suddenly he was transported into the falling man. In slow motion. They fell together. Neurons theory was wrong. That was 1905 and only Max Plank and the chemist who would invent mustard, and serin gas had heard of him. His e+mc2 paper and 2 others were drawing a lot of attention. But it took him 10+ years to do the math for mustard It was not as wildly accepted as his other papers.--They demanded proof. But how do you prove gravity doesn't hold you to the earth but that it pushes you down with a web if time and space attracted by Gravitons. Well being Einstein he knew how to prove it. Mass was strong enough to bend light around a massive object. The catch was the sun was only thing massive enough to bend light. But it was too bright to see the light from stars behind it. Photo-astronomy was just being developed in California. EINSTIEN WAS BORN IN GERMANY BUT MOVED TO SWITSERLAND to Escape the draft. He was a pacifist. But the center of the academic world was the Berlin Physic die Institute. In 1915 Macks Planck and the head chemist went to Salsburg to beg Albert to come back. He could do pure research and not have to teach classes. This getting way to long. WWI was a nightmare and they mist one total eclips. Next try was in an Island off Africa, and South America--bad weather almost shot him down. But 24 expeditions went to OZ in 23. It was undeniable. Light curved around the sun. The space time continuum, and "time "dilation were un deniable. This led to the Einstein-Rosenbridge. Worm holes which are believed to be milliseconds when the "membranes" touch. If anyone reads this I'll tell the whole story--feel free to correct. I got this BS in 1983.
2 dementional is theoretic mathmatic construct--perhaps 3 dementional descrbe what your saying better--i do agree with the concept
I don't like the idea of a parallel universe and it is something that's never really made sense to me. The idea that this universe has a parallel, is mirrored, elsewhere - just defies logic to me. As does the 'multiverse' idea. To me, it feels like our universe is multi-dimensional, which differs to the idea of a parallel universe or a multi-verse. A universe that contains multiple dimensions in one space makes some sense to me and explains quite a bit. The fact that in our OWN dimension, we can only see 3 sides, 3 dimensions of ANY solid object; hints to me that we are already missing a dimension somewhere on our own physical plain, and this dimension could possibly be witnessed from a different level of consciousness. This is basic observation, without the need to study or indulge in certain compounds which MAY reveal certain truths about the World around us. This is simply looking around and thinking twice. You only ever see three sides to any object at any one time. But does that 'invisible' side exist? OF COURSE, you say - it's called TILT. TILT an object and all will be revealed as that missing side comes into view. This is all well and good, but the minute you tilt; another side of the object disappears. Does that mean this side no longer exists? Well if reality is defined by what can be perceived, then the answer is no, clearly.. It will NEVER exist in our dimension as it truly is, in the way that we perceive objects. Yet we know, or at least assume, it does. Although one side will NEVER be seen in the dimensional state we perceptualise every day; we still assume it must exist. We assume subconsciously that any solid object has all the sides of a 4th dimensional object; yet only ever see three; and it is not until a mind stops to ponder on this that questions are thought of and everything is reconsidered. I have come into contact with a compound, currently legal (and one I claim is the biggest shellshock to human consciousness, even next to DMT), which has took my mind to what I can only come to the conclusion of as being the 5th dimension, as while in that state I perceived the 4th missing edge to a solid surface. It is something I cannot put into words, and I do not condone making too much meaning out of a psychedelic experience and using it as a pre-requisite of hidden truth BUT on this particular substance; which i have since read produces a collective experience in everyone that takes it, is as close to inter-dimensional travel as is humanly possible; and research on this sage i am speaking of could be invaluable to dimensional studies... it's just a shame it's so often used recreationally and in an imbecilic manner. Salvia Divinorum. Equip yourself with the eyes of the seers of the sages, bless yourself with the knowledge passed down through the ages; just once... and question thereafter. Answers to your questions will come but don't expect someone else to answer YOUR questions.. and I find nothing provokes deeper questions than an experience with compounds that take your consciousness out of the norm.. just don't use the experience as an answer session. Use it to provoke the questions first and pay attention to what happens without trying to make too much sense. Allow the experience to fill your mind with enquiries.. and start coming to terms with them, and your answers, afterwards. I know a large number of people are completely against this idea and I respect that. I know it takes a lot of credibility away from thinking rationally in many people's minds, I know this. But we're not getting the answers we want from those we are supposed to have trust in, so some of us need to seek alternative methods of finding things out; and interaction with certain compouunds, at least for me, is one way I can tangibly gain altenative insight in my own mind; which is really all that matters for me.
