Since at least one person was totally confused by my post I will try to make to even more clear; pay attention here TrippinBTM, this might be too much for you. I'll use short simple sentences to make it nice and easy.

There are lots of people who call themsevles "witches" and/or "pagans". There seems to be only a very general consensus as to what these terms mean when used to describe oneself. When someone who styles themself a "witch" or "pagan" asks what Christians think of witches and pagans they will need to provide a more indepth description of their beliefs inorder for Christians to provide an adequate answer.

If, however, such a person were to read the Gospels they would get an idea of what Christ himself thought without having to air their beliefs infront of a possibly hostile audience. Christians at the very least claim to hold the same positions as Christ. If someone were to find out what Christ thought about something then they would have a good idea as to what Chrisitans think about it. I think that this is a fairly simple and straightforward concept.

    a great pagan once said...

    We are not Evil

""We are not evil. We don't harm or seduce people. We are
not dangerous. We are ordinary people like you. We have
families, jobs, hopes, and dreams. We are not a cult. This
religion is not a joke. We are not what you think we are
from looking at T.V. We are real. We laugh, we cry. We are
serious. We have a sense of humor. You don't have to be
afraid of us. We don't want to convert you. And please
don't try to convert us. Just give us the same right we give
you doto live in peace. We are much more similar to you
    than you think."

    Q. Do Witches worship the devil? (answer from WADL)

    A. No. Satan, or the Devil, has absolutely no place in Wicca or Witchcraft. The worship of Satan is the practice of profaning Christian symbolism and is thus a Christian heresy, rather than a Pagan religion. The Goddess and God of the Witches are in no way connected to Satanic practices. Satan, or the Devil, is a Christian creation and they are more than welcome to keep him.

more than one person has pointed out that the old testament dictum
(so often quoted as suspected witches were burned, drowned, or pressed beneath stones, over a period of several hundred years):

"thou shalt not suffer a 'witch' to live"
    might be better translated as:
"thou shalt not suffer a 'well-poisoner' to live"

(and well-poisoners were probably a much greater danger to the community than an herb-wise woman with worship ties to the great mother goddess, dontcha think?)

I said Satan was a deceiver, makes you think you're worshipping Certain natural dieties, while having Satan just lying to you. That was the point.
He's pretty good at it too...He's smart, been among us for mellenia, he knows just the right buttons to push...

But it's your religion, I'm not gonna flame it, just stating a christian point of view (which you asked for).

    Remember, God loves you! ;)

Trouble is little flower that the christian devil is largely derived from images of pre-christian deities such as the celtic cernanos and the greek pan. Here in England, a stag-headed god, Herne was worshiped (and still is by some pagans).
These were all seen as gods of the sun on one level, and nature on another.
Medieval Christianity - and that was when it was at it's peak of power and influence, saw the world and nature as evil. Some christians still do. So naturally, they saw the Goddess and the Gods of the nature worshiping pagans as evil too.
They believed that the forces of nature themselves are fallen and corrupt.

We do not worship the devil because there is no devil. We worship the earth. We worshp the trees. We worship the seasons and the harvest, all the things that you say YOUR god created. So if YOUR god created them, they can hardly be idols.

So much for idol worship. Please try again.

It doesn't quite work like that. You think about the trees more than God, therefore the tree is an idol.

The devil's a deceiver, like I said a couple of times. Of coarse, you don't believe in him.

According to the post above, anything that is not the god of Abraham, is an idol.

Go figure... The same old Christian paranoia, you're either with us or against us.

This thread is like a hoover. I promised I'd never post in this forum, since it always escalates into an argument and it sucked me in... again.
