No, it would make them Christians who understand "the way" differently than you do. There can be many paths to heaven, but they're all going the same general direction.

It would seem this understanding is different from that of Christ. (Matt 7:13)

Okay, so when Jesus said; “Go in through the narrow gate; because broad and spacious is the road leading off into destruction, and many are the ones going in through it; whereas narrow is the gate and cramped the road leading off into life, and few are the ones finding it.", what in the world was he talking about? (Matthew 7:13-14)

PS Sorry def zeppelin, I didn't see your find post before I posted

Not to step on any ones toes.
The narrow gate is narrow focus. Let the mind be in you that is in christ jesus.

If we look at a woman lustfully we have already fornicated in our heart and is a product of an unfocused, undisciplined mind. To the extent that our every thought carries the creative intent of our fathers creative power because we were created in the likeness and image of god. There are no idle thoughts.

This is what is meant by, the way is narrow. It is difficult to remember god with every thought when it is so easy to let our mind wander to seeming harmless entertainments.

At least we can be thankful they are harmless entertainments and not harmful ones, like God.

Interestingly the Scripture is talking about two different roads not two different gates. Talking about two different ways of life not two different ways of focus.

Interestingly God's teachings always benefit, whereas the same thing can not be said of man's entertainments.

An argument is generally used when contesting the statements of others.

    But not always.

You made an statement, I made a statement. :)

Interestingly, yes two different ways of living. Living consciously with god seeking always our highest thought in all things or living unconsciously, like a leaf in the wind, our attention scattered to and fro. Be it path, road, gate, whatever.

It is always the thought that comes first and we always choose with a guide.
I agree with you it speaks of two different lives but the mind is the master of all our activities. Your body doesn't get up and move unless you bid it. We organize our lives through thought. Again, if we look at a woman lustfully we have already fornicated in our heart. Looking at a woman lustfully is an act of mind.

    So anything else?

Enter the narrow gate because wide is the path of destruction. On the one hand the gate is narrow, as is the path to it, on the other the path is wide to destruction. It is talking about both gates and paths or roads.

Interestingly the Bible does not talk about "living consciously" or any thing of the sort, so how do you come with such unscriptural teachings?

Just for the sake of correctness, the narrow road leads away from the gate toward life and not to the gate.

Love god with all your heart and strength and your brother as yourself. These are states being administered by the mind, let the mind be in you then, that is in christ jesus. Or, blessed are those who are awake when he comes for he will gird himself and come serve him. It is, "what the bible says", you are just not used to hearing it discussed in this way. I discuss it this way because the world is old and tired and an end to any cause for acrimony would be helpful.

How do you interpret the passage about the eye being the lamp of the body and if the eye be sound then the whole body will be full of light?

Where I get the teachings is from the holy spirit, the holy spirit that jesus talks about sending, you remember. Waterbrother, just because the words are different, it does not mean that they are not of consistent premise, or, "unscriptural". I have used scripture in a conversational manner to demonstrate principle in practice, always with the consistent premises of christ teaching. We do not worship only by letters but in spirit and truth.

Even better. The narrow gate then, is the mind that focuses on the road to life.
    Thank you for lending correctness.

You got it from your spirit buddy, I figured. The one that more often than not disagrees with what was written by those actually guided by the Holy Spirit.

A gate closes, are you say you have a closed mind?

The narrow gate in this instance, within the context of christ teaching, is the gateway to the kingdom of your mind which you alone can rule. Your question is superfluous as it doesn't say gate, but "narrow gate". It is a metaphor not speaking of any gate but of a specific aspect of the self.
