I like How Soon Is Now, This Charming Man, Cemetary Gates and a handful of other songs. and I like how Johnny Marr composes songs. but I never understood their mass appeal or Morrisey's cult of personality. they just never did it for me.

 

This Charming Man and Cemetery gates are the more popular ones. There are just all sorts of gems to be found in their B-sides, especially on The Smiths...its a great debut album.

Zilla, you smell. I insulted pink floyd, never a person. I don't see why personality or sweeping statements had to come into it at all. I think you guys are awesome, creative people that have made a mistake in assuming a bad band is actually good. Maybe I have made the same mistake with the Smiths.

I bet the reason why Dean has lost faith enitrely is because I said Belle and Sebastian are my favourite band. I am very cunning you see. Thats enough to turn any small minded music snob running in the other direction.

Bands like the Smiths helped counteract Pink Floyd's arrogant patheticness and influenced a lot of the indy bands we love today. I can certainly understand if you don't like them though, but god forbid I insult the almighty floyd! NOOO!!!!

I don't feel that we can by BFF now because we are just so stubborn and argumentative. I think if we push this back to 'aquantences with mutual respect for one another' then we could really have a cool thing going.
