the cassette was worth it.. one song that attracted the bubble gum crowd.. the dead suck in the studio.. and I already had the songs 2/3 year in advance the album.. Suck it Jerry, Suck it hard and long..
How are any of those albums overrated? If there is a market it's surely not overrated. Or does it mean you guys are such self-proclaimed music connaisseurs that everything you don't like is overrated and stupid?
They are overrated because they are uninteresting, devoid of originality, lack musical development, are poorly written or performed, are lacking in style, are pretentious, or just plain ugly. And maybe all of the above. Yet, they have sold well are held in high esteem by many. In short, they are musical prattle, relatively speaking. That is, even the worst Pink Floyd album is still better than anything Bruce Springsteen ever did. At least the ones I picked.
Bruce Springsteen.... what a douche. That guy makes me cringe. So does his music. OK.. 'Born to Run' is a pretty good song.
Hey McFud, To each his own! I have nothing against Brucie, at least he has some talent, just not my style and not very original. And overrated, I'd put him right up with Billy Joel and Elton John. Both are better musicians than I am, as I can't play a note or sing a tune, but not on a par with say... Paul Kantner, The Everly Brothers, John Sebastian, Greg Lake, Alvin Lee, or a half million others who get very little recognition compared to those two.
The studio album may be overrated, but the live album is perfection. Or maybe I just have a soft spot in my heart for the live album, because it's been the guide for many of my psychedelic journeys.
