I went to a local trail that runs beside a river. Saw many other people without shoes. Most were also in bathing suits.

I see quite a few, but they're all on the beach or nearby. What i find strange is the amount of people on the beach with shoes on - especially on a hot sunny day. We have a lovely beach at Instow, very soft clean sand that is a joy to walk on, and most people down there don't ever bother to touch and feel it.

It's just too damn weird for me.

I know that feeling! As I've said elsewhere, whenever I see another b/f-er (male or female) I feel I want to start a conversation both to give encouragement and because they immediately seem interesting to me. Depending on circumstances, sometimes I do, but sometimes I shy away for fear of seeming weird as suggested. I'm not sure why we feel like this sometimes, as I would be delighted if someone approached me with friendly positive comments:) I suppose it's because however confident we may appear on the outside, there's always a feeling deep down that we are doing something wrong by going barefoot (part of the attraction...rebellion!!), so we assume wrongly that any comment we receive will be negative.

Went all around town barefoot today. It's amazing to see how well I fared today compared to a year ago. Loose pine shingles still hurt though.

Well, I think if I was walking I would've said something, but to go to the effort of parking my vehicle and hopping out just to acknowledge a fellow barefooter might be creepy lol. Was very tempted though, but I figure if they do it regularly, I'm bound to see them again, as I was literally right around the corner from my house.

Soooooooo many in Huntington beach,CA yesterday. around one in every 3-4 people barefoot around the shopping and dining district, not just beaches. But it must just come with the beach community norms.

I've seen that too and am just amazed, YOU ARE AT THE BEACH take your shoes off. I guess they are the terminally shod, yanno, wake up in the morning and the first thing they do is put on shoes.

    Pink Floyd...

Teach them from an early age to fear to touch the Earth, keep everything sterile and out of reach because the parents are terrified also. Terrified to look poor without shoes on. Terrified to look anything less than middle class.

While those same mothers condemn those who force women from other cultures to wear head scarves and veils.

    Pink Floyd...

Lyrics from Mother, by Pink Floyd.

I'm using the wall as a metaphor for the soles of shoes. Condition children with the fears of their parents to stay this side of the wall where it's safe, clean and known. Heaven forbid that they may touch and feel something real and natural in their lives.

a women was walking through the centre of manchester this afternoon with her partner, she was wearing a dress and was quite a glamorous looking lady so she really stood out. she stopped and checked her filthy soles out at one point, i was half expecting to see someone filming her! anyway its fair to say all the way down the street people were glancing at her, teenagers whispering to their friends and giggling. Its very rare to see bf people in manchester in daylight hours but it made my day!

As I was driving through my neighborhood today I saw a teenage girl get off the school bus while holding her flip flops. First barefoot person I've seen in a while.

Saw a boy about ten years old on a scooter today, barefoot. Then, about fifty yards down the street, I saw a woman park in a driveway and get out, barefoot. This in a town where nobody ever seems to be barefoot, two on the same street! I'm moving to that street haha.

And In A Town Of 40,000 There Was Only One Person Silly Enough To Be Barefoot,

    And I'm Proud To Say I'm Him....[IMG]

Found three in the past 24 hours.

One young girl 15ish walking home in the middle of the night on the side of the paved road.

Another when it was raining, saw a mom kick off ther flops and run barefoot home while pushing a stroller.

Multiple barefeet on the dashboard...(still trying to get pics of these!)

Pics would be awesome, this rare sighting is dangerous to my driving lol. Or the classic 'reclined with bare feet resting on the rear-view mirror', very care-free and beautiful, especially if the soles are dirty. Guy or girl, doesn't matter to me, just yummy! I don't normally care for feet on a guy (guys rarely take care of them like women do), but I make an exception for a regular barefooter. :drool5:

Yes I like to see guys bf too, although it's very rare indeed (yet most of the posters on here are male??). Gives me much encouragement and nice to see a kindred spirit.
