But, the study didn't look at accents - people with the RP accent tend to pronounce it as Joan, so the bias still stands!!

Ya, I'm not arguing how valid the study truly is, I just thought it was mildly interesting. I say scone like stone also, it just sounds better. When I think about it, I've been saying words like stoned and stoner too long not to say scone like that. In fact I normally just say biscuit, no one really says scone in Texas. Mmmmm biscuits and gravy.

I have never heard that before! I can't imagine them gravy, only clotted cream and jam!
