I believe she's "asserting" that you Christian cronies can't get over the fact that Halloween as they believe it now is something it's not. The point of this topic was to reveal Halloween's roots, because I was sick of hearing how Halloween is really "the devils day" when it's not.

Halloweens Roots are in the Christian Church and its intitution of All Saints Day.

Your right - its not 'Devils Day'.

It has no 'Roots' as Sera Michele and you have clearly stated - efforts were made to deliberately cut off any 'Roots' to Samhain.

    Done and done.

Ya, everyone knows that Saturday, or Saturn's day, or Satan's Day is the devils day.

I always thought Halloween originated in Mexico or something. Or maybe... the day of the dead... isn't it the same thing? They worship dead people. They cook a huge meal and remember all of the people they've lost in their lives. I think they take some of the food to the graves and leave it for them to eat. I don't remember much about it. All I know is people who don't let their kids celebrate halloween suck.

Wasn't all hallow's eve created by the church as a way to scare off the ghosts of the 'undead' the night before All Soul's Day? That's why there's scary costumes and scary faces carved in pumpkins.... sheesh read a book.

Did you know the word bonfire comes from the meaning the burning of bones...Bone fire...Bonfire. Also the colors of halloween (orange and black) come from the fire against the black sky during the bonfires.
