i buy books, and exercise equipment online - a foam roller and a hand gripper were my last 2 things of this nature. i usually buy all my text books online. i dont' do clothes shopping online though. i need to try things on. and even though i know my size, its hard to shop online for pants...
People watching is delectable. ...god, I have my eye on these ciao bella travel sleep masks. decisons decisions.
i don't really shop except for groceries and the occasional used video game. i've paid my car insurance online, but i'm pretty sure that's as close as i've come to buying anything online.... oh, i did get my checks online last time! why wouldn't you make impulse purchases online? isn't there a certain amount of browsing involved there too? like i said, i've never shopped online, so i don't really know what's involved
i hate shopping for clothes online, but i usually end up buying my books through amazon vs a store in town. cheaper, more likely to be in stock, and way friendlier (namely, not rude to me). ebay howeve,r has fucked me over before hardcore and their shipping and handling fees are ridiculously high (often twice the cost of the item im interested in)
I never order online from places like ebay.com, computergeeks.com, pricewatch.com, ebid.com, gunbroker.co, gunsamerica.com, auctionarms.com, tigerdirect.com, evertek.com, walmart.com, and other places like that. Its just a silly bad thing to do so I could never do that sort of thing.
I just buy books online. I'm picky about clothes and things like that. Oh no wait I bought a ring for my mom for Christmas online. I'm also guilty of ordering stuff from the tv. Well from shop nbc. haha
very rarely, with great reluctance and much trepidation. only online purchases have been perminent use keys for software first tried out as shareware and not available on hard media locally. its so much more fun seeing real things on real shelves in real stores, yard sales, and flea markets. besides i need the exercise to get out and walk around. and ride around on the bus and see the real ongoing evolution of the tangable physical world around me. of course i would be doing that a lot more often on general principals if it were more doing so in derictions i would consider more positive, but it's still more gratifying to actually SEE what i'm going to buy. (and also less likely to end up with something that looks just like the picture, only WAY different size! or other misleadingly implied specification) (not to mention the vulnerabilities of so called 'secure online transactions') =^^= .../\...
Wow. Looks like a lot of people buy books online. That is something I have never done. The only time I had a book delivered to my house, was because I went into the book store and they were out of stock so they ordered it online for me. I must be old fashioned.
I doubt that, but it's possible. I usually find fair prices for books here at Used Bookstores. There are two stores right near my work, and the university has two bookstores that have a few used gems. I stocked up on books when I went to the Strand in NYC this October.
I bought my Physics book last semester for $4 online, my university bookstore was selling it for 250$ new, while the used bookstores in town were selling it for $150ish. Imagine. All novels you buy used online usually won't cost you more than $0.10
*shrugs* I pay less than $5 for used novels anyway and I'm loyal to the local businesses and people working the stores around here. But thanks Pavel.
i typically get a book for about $3.25 in shipping. i'll buy a whole bunch, only pay a couple more dollars for the shipping. i like it.
I've never bought anything online except for plane tickets. Now that I don't have a bank-account or any card thingy, I guess I won't be doing even that any more. I might have to get a bank account to start searching for books. I'm reading through the local library.
