Hey Blinkin, I met up with Linz at the VT gathering, I knew who she was via your online journal here...I've been "lurking" here a bit, really digging on what y'all are up to...I explained to Linz that I'm a total sucker for travelogues, like On the Road by Kerouac, Travels with Charlie by Steinbeck, Jadoo by John Keel, any of the Bill Bryson series, etc. Your online entries about your current expedition sort of fall into that category I reckon.. Linz is a really nice woman, I'd love to meet up with the rest of you someday soon! Peace and safe travels- Dave

    ps-your kids are adorable!

k we made it to garberville, I already ran into and old alumni and he smoked the tribe up, then we met some random girl she smoked the tribe up, then yet another kid came by and just gave us a big nug, which was immediatly smoked.....

then the cops came and tried to be mean....but they were not that good at it, they hung out for a while chatting and then left...but in sympathy we were again smoked up....

so I got a tribe of really baked gypsys .....man its hard getting things done with poy heads......

so the cops told us since reggai on the river just passed the locals have been fed up with bus's kicken around, he said hed tow me the next time...his 35 dollar ticket only joins the increasingly larger bag of tickets that will never get paid...heheheh I love foriegn lisence plates!!!!!

so were going two miles down the road to redway...

a while ago on a previous blog we were invited to a commune out here, I think we'll try looking them up...
much love...oh we got a dog, these kids we drove up from san fran had this really kind dog lab and rotti mix, lenny is his name, so were taking care of him while dude does his thing with the law, he was sad to see his dog go, but hes the littlest hobo now!!!!

    PEACE!!!

It was much more my kind of gathering the nationals are way to crowded for me. but the road is calling and Im itchin to get out west so I'll probably drive like a mad woman until I get there(with frequent stops of course)

Clipping work will be easy to get in about 45 days or so. Pay is about 20$ an hour right now, but its now mostly done via piece work. I hear some pay with dollars and some pay with goods.

A group of customers came into my bar, they have land fairly close to me as a matter of fact. They got raided few days ago and lost about 700 plants but were not arrested. They started late and police laughed at them, told them they needed to get advice on how to grow cause their plants were so small.

I must be about the only person not growing commercially in the area I live in, but still get the benefits cause people come into my bar to spend money.

Am glad you got to see Mendocino county, its really beutiful,

yeah were in arcata .....sooooo many kids here, weve done ok selling hemp , but not as well as we would like,

ok so heres where were at

    daryle jordan and I
are absolutley sick of wayu and katie,, alana is cool but shes wayus girl and because so they will vote together,
the vision we have for highway child is not what its becoming, were not a bunch of bums looking for kick downs, sure once in a while we'll fly a sign in towns where the hemp sucks...but its not a way of life, katie will bum everything off of everyone, its annoying as hell, I dont want to judge but the problem is people judge us all because of her...

wayu is a thief, and his tall tales ae pissing me off, apart from monoplising every conversation his karma is going to hit him in the ass and mayeb the bus as well....guilty by association sucks

the problem is how we outlined the rulles, its a split decision ....how the hell do we get these bums off the bus???

I mean I could veto and just get rid of them, ....I just dont want that to be the way this bus works....

but i mean there into them selves not the tribe,
the rest of us put the tribe first, there off camping somewhere...and took a lot of tribe food to do there "own" thing........

    any ideas?

linz hey baby cant wait to see you, hope the journey is a good one
    much love

I agree, a few bad apples always spoil the barrel.

Do what you gotta do but get rid of any violent or obnoxious or trouble making elements that you may pick up. Life is WAY too short to put up with nasty people.

    My two cents,

    Allan.

well I mean I know its my bus, still I want this to work as a domocracy, ...nonetheless
the problem solved it self, or at least in part,
katie came back from camping and decided she wanted to hitch with some kids she met here, which now tips the vote and allows it to work.,....

wayu though came back checked his mail and started sulking I guess his good friend in san diego was just murdrerd, I wasnt about to throw him off during that shock, but ;latter last night I think hes gotten the hint, ...

    we picked up colleen
shes cool as fuck, but she'll only be on for a few days she has a flight out of portland friday..

the tranny is slipping a bit in the bus, sooo we think well have to bed it down for a few weeks in southern oregon work and buy another bus....

it was too bad the free buses fell threw in san fran...oh well, back to bunk building,

we came accross this sister in garberville, I guess her old man was just arrested she packed her shit from her RV that was broken down and told us to have at it..
we scored a new kitchen unit with a better stove/oven, two 4 ft long solar panels, an air conditioner, and some bed kits.....

I think were going to aim for ashland oregon see how the work there is, maybe we'll come back and see if we can find clipping work, in a month or so......

    peace

clutch? man those are cake to fix the clutch is like $30 - $50 and to get the pressure plate machined is another $10 walla new clutch no slippage... now if its an automatic ya you could be dumping a few hundred into a new/used tranny, although still cake to install whats the make of your bus international, ford, chevy? what a shame to get rid of a whole bus for a slipping tranny PM me if you want a crash course on how to do this yourself.

Blinkin, ya'll are living the dream. Enjoy the hell out of your adventure, and give a passing thought to those of us not fortunate enough to be in circumstances where we could take a trip like that.

Thumbs up from the dirty south!

well the thing with the bus is, take the regular car price to fix something x10 and youve got the bus price.
it really makes things hard sometimes

Drew i have an amazing story... no really its pretty cool
i was walking down town and i saw 2 people with large back packs, Travelers i thought so i struck up a convosation, turns out they had just hitched in form wasington (state) to come to fort kent because, they had never been
So i showed them around the town, kicked there butts at fooseball, and had aa pretty swell time.
i had been camping up on the mountain, so i invited them to come with me as the view was great, it was quiet and no body botherred you up there, Plus i had a few beers still.
Well on the hike up we spotted 3 trash bags in the woods, and being good natured folks we went to pick it up and dispose of it properly, when inside we found... 48 bud light bottles still slightly chilled!!
Gasp, picking up trash really dose pay off. we stood there, trying to figure out what to do, Its obvious someone stashed them here, and i dont think the 3 of us could drink them all in one night, plus that would leave the stasher very beerless, and that would suck. but here, we found and ton of beer, and well... we like beer...
So we took about 24 of them left the stasher a note of thanks and also a note about the usefulyness of refirgurators.
    :D
