I was eighteen and my brother was twenty one. One Saturday evenin’, when all the work was done we went down to the river we had some trot line to run.
My brother Walter had a fight the week before. He knocked a boy named Wilson through the pool hall door and they said you don’t mess with Wilson unless you wanted war.
I put the boat on the water and I made the engine run. I loaded the ladder against the sinking sun and my brother Walter was loadin’ his gun and we went down the river.

Down past the coal docks we were runnin’ our line. Heard some drunken boaters racin’ up behind it was Wilson and his cousin, they had trouble on their minds.
Well they passed on by us, probably goin’ to tend their pods, we headed up the river with the fish we’d caught.
But before we made the landin’, I thought I heard a shot.. Back down the river.

My brother Walter fell over the side and I couldn’t find him no matter how hard I tried and I looked along the bank, I couldn’t find where they’d hide.
Well they dragged the river and searched it up and down, they couldn’t find his body so they decided that he drowned.
But I knew better.. and Wilson bragged around town.

So one night I floated down, right above Wilson’s shack.
I hit in the wood, until I saw him walk out back.
I put a bullet in his head, it dropped him in his tracks.. and we went down the river.

Down below the trestle where the water runs slow, I chained him to anvil and then I let him go and now five years later, I ain’t told a soul.
And I ain’t done much fishin’, I hardly wet a line. The death of my brother is still heavy on mind.
I been thinkin’ Wilson’s cousin had better find a place to hide.. ‘cause I’m goin’ down the river.

I just a table for the Bayern SoO pool playing. State of Origin. Nth v Sth state. I'm south. It is for top competitors in state pool so only the good players compete in it. I see my name on the list but it is greyed out. That means I'm not in the team, but, I'm either close to being in the team or they've put me down as a fill in/call up competitor. I'm trying to find out what it exactly means.

I admit though and have noticed that people who had my back when I first started 18months ago no longer have my back and no longer really associate themselves with me.

I'm not sure if they're a bit intimidated at the fact I've come so far in so little one or what it means. It doesn't bother me in the slightest but it's just weird how now that I am making that name for myself, you've got new people wanna take me under their wing but the originals distance themselves. I really do think because in the beginning those originals were average players and I've bested them now and moved up divisions quickly and I've been sought after. Maybe they think I'm too good for them now or something? Fucken who cares anyway.

Yep. It means I'm a reserve. If people pull out I will be offered the match. but I am at bottom of list so probably won't happen but been told that it's a good thing, means I'm definitely cutting through the ranks of competitive pool in the state and I'm making that name for myself and that somebody has nominated me to play for them.

 

Ok, so I'm a noxious ass. but I am the same here as in real life;
example, yesterday a self important twit at work re-arranged shit on one of the counters and marked the lower shelf with "absolutely no food or drinks go here" and I asked her about it and she said "yes, no drinks there" and then proceeded to put her drink on the top of the counter above a computer and power strip where the paint system is plugged into.
I responded "ok, so now if a drink spills it will drip down and short all this shit out, OK I got it, smart choice"

she gave me the old stinkeye and has been cold and bitchy to me for two days.....LOL


I am just as Noxious in real life and call out stupidity and asinine ideas all the time, regardless of whatever label is affixed to a person's lapel.

on the way home tonight traffic came to a halt so i turn on the traffic report station and it says there was a hit-n-run at XYZ on ramp, SHIT!!! I think more time in traffic...
then I realize it is the on ramp my daughter uses on her way from work, so of course all the bad shit starts going through my mind and I'm straining to see if her car is on the side of the road as I crawl past the area....LOL

thank goodness she was already home by then...
but still, as a dad that shit fucks with the head...

Sometimes I think I am missing out on so much. Like I think I am having the same conversation as everyone else but I am really not.
