When you're 11 things catch your eye and define your life I think. If you find something appealing it'll stick with you. As you get older you see things but your mind is often so shrouded in other thoughts that you inevitably pass them by but when you're young it's all intriguing you got nothing better to do than to envelope your whole soul into something.

As was me always with my mythology. When I grew up that's what I read all the time, coloring in books and things was all Norse related. You might even say well how'd she get into all that as a child anyway? Just like I said before, I had nothing better to do or think about as a child than run with my own imagination and my imagination is powerful.

I didn't play house or kitchen or dolls... I tried to build a log cabin or something, something I'd seen. I remember I watched White Fang as a child, I went home from movies and attempted to build myself a log cabin. I was like 6or7 maybe. Best movie I'd seen, wolves stuck with me forever after and so did the woods and log cabins.

When kids got into the skate parks, I was out in forest with a metal detector. The detector stuck with me too I remember asking what it was, I liked the look of it, and so it became a part of me too. I don't know too much about metal detecting etc. but since a kid I always enjoy reading about it all. I want to take one with me in the middle of the forest and see what I could find if anything.

As for music, I'm always into rock and I got that from childhood too. All those Vietnam era war cassette tapes my dad had. Soundtracks to Tour of Duty and Full Metal Jacket etc. so while you wonder how a 11 year old gets into rock, it was the movies we used to watch, the music sticks with you all life defines kinda who you are maybe. I listen to all sorts now but I wonder what I'd be like if I didn't listen to rock and roll etc.

hey...there is nothing wrong with playing with dolls....i mean action figures :)

i basically was outside my entire child hood...that's how it was back then....out with the sun and home after dark....from like 8 through to my late teens...we would go on bike rides exploring every town within riding distance...we also would ride our bikes to Toronto and ride around down town.....didn't even know what mythology was until probably grade 9

but i also discovered weed that year so....... ;)

Someone sent me owl wings, in a box, covered in salt. They did well until the cats found them. I turned them into smudge fans.

So, you could try covering them in salt.

metal detecting is kind of useless here

must be fun in a place with history but the natives here never dropped change or hid stuff

Open your box and pour about 2" of cornmeal into it. Make sure it's evenly distributed over the bottom of the box. Then, place your bird parts on top, without touching each other. Pour more cornmeal overtop, enough to completely cover the parts. Place the lid on firmly. Use your knife to cut a few slits in the lid to allow for air passage.

Now, place the box in a cool, dark, dry place and forget about it for a month. The cornmeal will absorb the fluids from the body parts during this time, essentially mummifying them. There should be no strong or bad smells coming from the box during this time.
