I would think because some people give their items away for free hoping it will go to someone in need. So the person who originally gave it away then feels swindled. If you don't really need the item, don't take it, common sense. It just seems greedy.
That horse is long gone.. and I doubt a children's home would want something like that. Looks like a hazard, that horse was really old.

I think if someone just has a bunch of what is basically trash and cleans it from their garage or something, they sometimes place it on the curb, how they get people to pick up trash, idk. Hoarders, I guess... I guess I ultimately don't care what people do with the stuff I give away, but I do try to find it a good home because I don't give trash away.. it's nice items and if I'm not selling it then I would like it to go to someone in need. I can kind of tell who just goes through all free listings and just inquires about everything. If I post several things, sometimes I'll get e-mails from the same guy all saying "I need this so badly!!!!! can I pick it up now?" Really dude? You're a hoarder.

Hmm... i see where your coming from but think differently too.
We have given away tons of stuff. Huge piles of good stuff for free and I feel good that i'm giving it away but even if that person is selling it they still need the money and so therefore I am helping them. I can see where like a year's worth of baby stuff can be a little different rather than a monopod or some curtains.

Wow, so you think someone has a bunch of stuff to put out for free and they hoarders and it is trash? We have given out really good stuff. Everyone cleaned out their clothes that didn't fit them and we had like 4 big trash bags of adult clothes for free, we had 2 large bags of outgrown toddler clothes for free, a few big bags of toys, some play tents, all kinds of stuff and everything was in excellent shape. We were going to have a yard sale but decided not too. Also, so do you think yard sale people are hoarders. There are people here that have yard sales every summer through out the summer... Are they hoarders and greedy people? You should really open up your eyes some sweetheart. Good for you, you are a good samaritan giving out stuff to people that need them... but why judge people.

I guess you want a response. Seriously, do I really explain myself that poorly? or do some people on this forum just really have a hard time comprehending things? I never said hoarders are giving things away. I said hoarders often pick things up.

On another note, the woman who got the rocking horse never sent me any videos. I'm kind of disappointed.

I come across a lot of flakes too. Probably lazy hoarders:D They inquire about stuff then don't wanna pick it up.

my area has what we call a convenience center, its where you can take your garbage and not have to wait for garbage day, you can also recycle there. and most importantly bring big things that will sit for a long time until the large item pickup day. then after all the areas of garbage and recyclables, there is an area called the "still good" section where you can just drop off something you dont want anymore but you know someone can use. i have dropped a few things off there and you hope it goes to someone that can really use it but you know there is always a possibility of someone snatching it and going to the flea market. but i dont let that bother me because honestly i dont have the patients to sit at a flea market and sell the stuff i dont want. and believe me i have a room in my house dedicated to such items. i always say someday i will go down to the flea market and sell that stuff but i know deep down i probably wont.

yeah, when i put my car up for sale on craigslist, i had one guy emailing me, telling me i would never get the price i was asking or more than he was offering.

i eventually said, ok, unless i get a better price, it's yours on Thursday. Wed. night, someone offered me 5 more dollars than he did....i sold it to them, and then the original guy was all bummed out, said he had a tow truck all ready and everything :(

then i think he emailed me again a few weeks later "did you ever sell that car?"
"yup, for more than you were offering :)"

Actually, I was quite interested in what you think about yard sale people and if you go to yard sales? Since everyone that has a large amount of stuff to give away it is autumatically trash... so I was wondering what you felt about people that sell stuff for really cheap.... obviouosly those people collect a lot of stuff.... It would be funny if you bought something that was given away for free on craigslist... You completely ignored like all of my response except for the second one.

Also, I don't care what you do with your stuff..... just you are really closed minded....
    Good day to you.

Hey, there's one person in this thread that dislikes every single one of my posts. Childish. Some people should really have their thumb up/thumb down privilege taken away. Tsk. Tsk.

Alright, I guess I am already bored, but I'm not sure where to start. Should I attempt to explain myself one more time and you still won't understand or should I re-write my previous posts in simpler terms that maybe an 8 year old would understand (I was gonna say 5 yr old, but let's give you a little more credit than that)? All this thread was supposed to be was a funny story about me giving away a rocking horse to someone on craigslist. Then I commented that I believe some people that collect free things from craigslist are hoarders and I believe some people that put stuff on their curbs for free just put out trash. You called me 'close minded' for my opinion. I don't even think you understand what close minded really means because you failed to use the term correctly. I'm very open minded, but also opinionated. I think a better term to describe you would be close minded, since you don't seem to use your brain very much (and of course that wouldn't be the correct way to use the term either, but I thought it made a funny joke).
