I don't care if he is attracted to 5 year olds even its probably something he can't help...But he is trying to push the whole thing as if child molesting is something natural... and to quote him " MOST men are the same as me."

My husband and I have a 10 1/2 year age difference,but honestly I think anything farther than that and you are seriously age gapped. I think she is more into dating a bad boy and wants to make a point to someone. She is playing a very dangerous game.

 

Why don't you respect freedom of expression? It's not pointless - we're debating the rationale behind the sex-prohibition laws.

Ok. You didn't explain to me why one rule is "based on reason" and why the other one isn't.

Just to ask you a question, do you even conceive of the fact that young girls are frequently manipulated by older men (I'm NOT talking about the law here) and end up emotionally damaged?

If you can CONCEIVE of that possibility, then that's the REASON why.

I can't see 10 year olds, but I do know that teens have sex, and that in certain cases they have sex with adults and it might still be a legitimate relationship of mutuality, even though against the law.

So, for me it's not so much a question of this age or that age. For me, what I'm interested in, is do you see the need to sacrifice your capacity to ACT on your desires so that little girls won't be hurt.

I have nothing against your fantasy. But I do think you're missing the point of COMPROMISE in society.

The age in Brazil I think is 16, I believe. So, yeah, it IS arbitrary.

At what age did you come into existence? Answer: when your mother's ovum was fertilised by your father's sperm. So why make social abortion legal at 12 weeks, or 24 weeks etc. Why not base the law ON REASON? Why not apply reason to all laws?
