I haven't read all your posts here, but I am getting the idea you want us to accept child molesting? and that we're not open-minded or smart enough to accept it, right?

You know, I think fibre's opinion is not what irks me.


What irks me is his persecution complex and the way he conveys it.

I'll listen to any opinion, right, wrong, and in-between. But I won't listen to defensive, circular conversation interminably.

He is just a lonely guy trapped within his head. I doubt he'd fuck a teen even if given the opportunity.

But he is making up for his loneliness the wrong way.

 

I only read a little bit, because this thread is way too long for my attention span.
And all I want to say is that it is wrong to judge Fibre on his sexual preference. If he gets a hard-on from 10 year olds kids, that is his thing.
As long as he keeps his hands off those little kids I have no problem with that, just like I have no problem with homosexuality.

 

Sorry to shatter your illusion ... MOST men are the same as me. It's normal to find young women attractive. You can do what you like with the IP address I'm coming from, I've not incited murder or terrorism so I'm acting legally, plus the IP address won't lead to me. I won't self-censor due to our surveillance society - it won't work on me, sorry. If you could understand me the whole world would be happier.

I have as much problem with puritanism as anyone. BUT, I don't think every limitation derives from puritanism.

Human relationships do need boundaries. And some of them are necessarily arbitrary.

The question is always where to set those boundaries, why, and what the pros and cons are.

Even though you are being a victim of a scandalized mob in this thread (but you also play the hand of the persecuted very skillfully), I think they have legitimate non-puritanical reasons to say that the limit should not be put at menstruation.

Why, because sex is necessarily a very emotionally stirring experience, and allowing it with people still in their formative years of EMOTIONAL maturity could cause more harm than good.

 

When would a girl become 'too young' for me? Why are arbitrary boundaries necessary? Why not base these boundaries on reason?

How do I have a persecution complex? People my age who like 10 year-old girls ARE persecuted!

I am at a computer lab right now. We are not allowed to bring in soda here. Ok? I have NEVER spilt my soda on the keyboard of my computer at home. NEVER. Other people have...so, in a way I am being "persecuted" because these clumsy motherfuckers are taking away from my enjoyment of a nice cold Pepsi right now.

But I'll suck that arbitrary boundary up because I know if they allowed everyone in here with a Pepsi, in a month every computer in this motherfucker would be damaged.

So, why do we need arbitrary boundaries? Because we live in society, and society necessarily requires that individuals strike a compromise with other individuals, no matter how different they may be interpersonally.

The rule about not allowing people to drink at their computer lab is not arbitrary. It's based on reason. The age of consent at 16 and age of majority at 18 are both arbitrary - they are not based on reason. Nor is it rational to set the age of criminal responsibility and age of consent at different ages -- as someone here implied - if you're old enough to take a life, you're old enough to create a life. So again, what is your rational argument for what you believe the age of consent should be? And what age do you believe it should be set at, or if not an age how should the law work with regards to sex?

 

I am about two seconds from closing this thread for being pointless.
