Why is everyone bitching about some stupid doll? May i remind you that one of the reasons that the Beatles became popular to begin with was because they had their faces plastered on everything- toys, dolls, tshirts, lunchboxes, etc- in the 60's, so it's not like it's anything new. And it's not like this is some Hot Topic fad toy or whatever, it's for those who actually listened to John Lennon/The Beatles, or those who collect Beatles memorabillia. There probably wont be many age 4-14 people interested in it anyway.

I think you're right, Lizard Queen. It is, after all, Christmas. I don't particularly like what Yoko did, but I don't really know her, apart from the image that the media paint of her (and we all know how reliable that is), so I shouldn't really criticize her. Anyway, if I said something that she, or her family, find offensive, I hope she forgives me and I'll send some good karma to her.

I wonder if she and Lennon would've divorced if Lennon never died, cause it seems that she is ruining John Lennon, and taking away his crediblity. Just what a divorcee would've done.
Here's an SAT analogy for ya:
John Lennon, imagine no possesions; Yoko Ono, buy the John Lennon doll.

Yes, there is a great deal of hypocrisy in Ono's actions, relative to John. He might've loved her, he might've let her interfere in the Beatles and later his solo career, but that is not relevant to this.

I've seen women manipulate and control the lives of men for their own ends, and Yoko is almost a textbook case.

She never lets others profit from Lennon (unless she gets a huge cut), even if it's for a good cause (although I did hear about one exception).

Then of all things to do, to allow a John Lennon doll that talks. Yes there was a lot of marketing when the Beatles first came out. That was because they were under contract to a recording company, and they didn't have control over the marketing of their group. That's why they formed Apple Records.

I don't recall John doing a lot of marketing of his image after he left the Beatles. In fact I think the opposite is true. Although he did publish at least one book of his own poetry & drawings, that's not the same a children's toys.

If you want to know more about how fucked up Yoko is, just ask Paul...

And as far as Yoko's talent goes, people will buy anything. Yoko always tried to advance her own career, using his popularity to advance her own, usually at the expense of John's.

Need I remind you of the awful songs they did together where her voice completely ruined the tunes. John should've never let her near a recording studio. If that had happened the Beatles could've stayed together much longer and John might even be alive today (with a different wife).

I totally agree....... there is a huge difference from the mid 60s marketing of the beatles, compared to this talking lennon doll of 2005. the beatles had NO control over merchandise, they didnt even own their songs, mind you..... and now there is some old, talentless, annoying, hag out to extort more money out of mindless beatle freaks, or people who know beatle freaks for xmas presents...... she makes me sick...... the guy is dead for chrissakes........ the same can be said about jimi hendix's family as well.......

Why don't they make a Yoko doll, so people can stick pins in it? It's bound to fetch some bucks. [IMG]

think of it this way: would you rather have her put out a lennon doll, which could possibly bring temporary joy to thousands of people, or have her release an another album that will bring lasting frustration and disgust to millions of people in order to make money?

    I'D BUY THAT!!!

BTW, the original site claiming to sell the doll, now claims they are not authorized to sell it, and have removed the page from their server.

Here's another story about it on Yahoo:
