"...thanks..." replied the goblin now, explaining "...you see, if I try to match what I write with a picture each time, then whenever I see some picture I am looking at its likeness to anything I have either written or intend to write about...", conversely it was the exactly the same for his texts too, for whenever the goblin wrote something now, his mind soon flicked up images, concluding "...for me all this posting is just practice then, but not to be a writer now, nor to become known even, no, it's only a practice to become more articulate and aware in my old age, not that one ever grows old upon forumland now, nah, me I grow younger by it..."

repost from elsewhere, the "are you honest" thread

"...good posts on a difficult topic indeed, where my guess is that I'm not really an honest person through no wish to be dishonest on my part, no, more it's a wish to retain the only thing I really have of myself, my own secrecy here..." mentioned the goblin wondering if any of those things that made one happy actually made one more aware too, saying "...it's like being given the choice between being some happy contented sheep or an unhappy hungering reminiscing wolf, well as far as the eventuality of one old age and nearing death concerned...", like some inner awareness at the cost of one's previous external happiness then, whereupon the goblin just asked himself mostly "...so now, that you know the truth of it, can you say it makes happy to know what's in store..."

"...you have the right to remain silent I suppose..." started the goblin continuing "...but equally anything one posts may wind up across the length and breadth of forumland...", in fact, the goblin never named name when quoting someone, only dealing with their content instead, explaining "...actually think it's part of the goblins are not to be trusted clause written in the small print somewhere..."

"...nothing like the forbidden fruits then is there..." replied the goblin who too, remembers well a time when, as a bunch of senseless carefree youths, they had gone for a midnight swim in the serpentine lake in london's hyde park only to learn from the policeman there, who had quickly hailed them all ashore, that someone had drowned at that very spot the week before

the goblin really enjoyed this thread, saying "...this forum reflects its posters for their talent without some writer's pretense..." whereas in contrast the goblin had just been on another forum where once more all the talk seemed to be about that dwindling book-world and some communal hate of this encroaching internet, "...well actually, it does seem a bit odd that they should be using this internet here to express their dislike of this internet here..." ventured the goblin who just understood that each change took courage and a bit of imagination

("...I still have much to edit through..." mentioned the goblin restarting again)

repost from elsewhere, the "Rolling in it: the highest paid authors" thread

"...I will never be known nor make money out of this either, promise..." went the goblin now, adding "...just to become a known unknown at best then...", so the internet was vast, fast, and alive he felt and these were early days too, adding "...no I just want to be a livewriter on forumland here, where the truth is that, like you, I too haven't the slightest clue what that actually means, no, only that it's mine for the trying and I am going to try for it..."

"...that would be a nice thought then..." replied the goblin rather liking the idea at first, thinking it sounded rather like "the tomb of the unknown goblin" then, and of course it only worked up until his dna revealed that the goblin was actually some unworthy nobody, concluding "...naah, how painful it would be to see one's works dated just because of one's dailylife self had come under medusa gaze again, where instead, if you're reading this amongst some wide many who might yet write in their posts then let that be my real award now, oh and to be fabulously unknown by it too, well yes that would be something I suppose, something I'd like, but it would be nothing at the same time too for I'll never step out of my anonymity here..."

repost from elsewhere, from the "household tips" thread on the mommies forum

the goblin wanted to join in once more, and briefly apologized for his last household tip about computers harddrive data recuperation using linux, and would subsequently try for something a little more in tune with what he felt most of the readers on this forum would appreciate here, whereupon he just cleared his throat, and restarted, saying "...look don't throw away those used 78 gramophone needles, for if you collect enough of them then, you can always sprinkle them around the base of your hydrangeas so that the rusted iron from them with be absorbed by the plant turning the flowers blue here, thus you'll be the envy of the neighbourhood..."

"...don't I love this thread then..." went the goblin again thinking upon something now then explaining "...when some economic system fails, it usually sinks into period of terror where not only are resources confiscated but also knowledge is either suppressed or discarded, where slowly those places with enough self-sufficiency and willpower gain their actual independence, true, but even there too, knowledge will be at a premium, for look at the fall of the western roman empire followed by the dark ages then, and just how quickly and how primitive it became without knowledge, so much so that a few generations later they were unable to build a three story building even, where all that lost knowledge, on law, medicine, architecture, warfare, and the like, took a thousand years between ad 4th to the 15th century, to return via italy from the muslim world in what we now call the renaissance...", simply if knowledge is power then its suppression, extinction, or simple replacement by something less powerful becomes a clear goal in itself, something that "the powers that be" can ill afford to overlook then, concluding "...today, for example, ourdearmedia is all either news without views or views without news resulting in either "one's not fully knowing about events" or in "one's not fully understanding them", where simply the only thing one clearly understands from what they do cover in the news, is that there's probably something else that they are covering up by it..."

"...ah now, I do both, I wing a reply in brackets first and then polish it into something better later..." replied the goblin knowing that something worth reading twice was worth writing twice, adding "...truth is that forums are slowly becoming somewhere to read the posters now, that's why I know too, that if my persona becomes known on forumland, then my readership, which doubles as my feeding pool too, will grow with it, and yet the goblin knew that each reader is not some docile bookreader as before, no they're active posters in their own right now, turning this into some modern day correspondence perhaps, where books for their lack of this interaction were more like watching intense films perhaps, posting was more like stand on a stage now..", and then the goblin laughed, continuing "...alright, it's more like punch and judy for adults then, but still "live" so to speak, and so much fun too..."

"...ok I'll post it to you in appreciation of your unflinching audacity mortal..." replied the goblin, adding "...no, better still, I'll post it here for you to see even...", and yet, the goblin somehow guessed that what most posters here really wanted to see was not anything that the goblin wrote, so much as what they had written themselves, or thought perhaps, in reply to his post that had provoked some reflection within them, adding "...for my role is to turn sheep into wolves here, ah but that doesn't equate to happiness at all, no, life is a slaughter house of sorts, it's just that the sheep don't have the capacity to see beyond their dailylife to notice it, they accept their boundaries because society dictates its own values upon them, where the only difference here is that the wolf hides itself amongst those sheep there, hidden yes, same fate too, yet its hard won thoughts are so very much its own till that end..."

"...I've been thinking upon anatoliy golitsyn's prediction back when he defected prior to the collapse of the the soviet union, that soviet union itself would be allowed to collapse and that the KGB would then lie dormant till the emergence to the new russia after that, his conjecture giving birth to that "the long deception" theory as in everything was neatly planned out then..." mentioned the goblin suspecting instead that the KGB saw a sinking ship, and that rather than the KGB planing the country's collapse to fool the west into slowing down the arms race, it was probably just the KGB being pragmatic, cutting it's loses here, and just their knowing that any country even in a state collapse will still need its security afterwards, continuing "...meaning that if the united states were to fall into that same predicament of near collapse today, it wouldn't spell the end of the CIA or FBI neither, no they too would just retract retrench and then revamp themselves anew much as their russian counterparts had done...", continuing "...so no then, it's wasn't something intentional perhaps, more a consequence of something inevitable even, where the return to some "authority" even in a country that has gone through economic collapse and reboardering too is only to be expected now, why, because times don't change really, for always secrecy... much as richelieu famously quoted ...is the first rule of state, where no state can exist independently for long without the brains of its own security and the brawns of its own military force..."
