I too have a diva cup, but stopped using it the last little while. I found it really inconvenient to use. It has a lot to do with having two young children and having to sometimes use public toilets... I still sometimes use it but not like before.
I think pads are delish, I'm so not at one with my fanny these days..espesh when I'm on my peryo''d. I think pads are lush, the colour and things.hahh.prolly just me though! And I find them so comfy with tights, like a fanny shield
i actually find my mooncup more convenient than pads or plugs if i have to use a public loo or port-a-loo.
I don't get how to clean it in the public restrooms? Even after you dump there is still a lot of residue (at least on mine) and to clean it it would require a lot of toilet paper.
if there's a wheelchair access toilet with a sink then i'll use that stall, otherwise just give it a wipe. i don't need to use a lot of toilet paper to clean it.. if i'm at a festival or somewhere i'll be using a port-a-loo i just make sure i have toilet paper or one of those pocket packs of tissues or wet wipes or something.. i prefer to have at least one of those items with me at festivals whether i'm on the rag or not. also, if i need to pee but don't need to empty the cup then i just don't take it out.. it's meant to be safe to leave it in for like 8 hours or something and i don't have any trouble peeing while its in. is that weird? sorry if that's tmi y'all. lol.
I totally get what you are saying fickle... but when you have two little boys in the stall with you... that's where it's inconvenient. lol Much easier for me to ask them to turn their eyes for a moment and make changes with other items. Would be less scarring if they turned around as well I think. lol
QUESTION FOR AMERICANS: would you consider a nuclear family with a household income of 200 grand to be 'wealthy'?
Does the cup ever get full? If you leave it in for the 8 hours, would it ever get full? 0.o? $200k a year is about £130k, and that is a huge amount The average full time salary here is 15k-40k a year
It can get full and then leak everywhere. Happens to in the middle of the night if I don't get up to empty it. I remember before I had my son I use to get really heavy periods and I would have to empty it every hour. You just have to get use to taking it out and checking to see how your flow is. Takes some time to get use to. To answer the family income, yes that would be considered wealthy to me. Others may not think so, but usually if they make that amount they don't consider themselves wealthy.
the only time my flow is heavy is the first day and i definitely need to change it every few hours then. the rest of my period i only need to change it 3 or 4 times a day. ok yeah i definitely consider it wealthy, but some people i know who earn that think they're the 'average joe' in america. so i just wanted to get a bit more perspective.
:O It can get full in the middle of the night?!!! Eugh >< I just bought one today, so heres hoping it works out xD
