Know why we haven't already had bank runs in the US? I mean, we are fat, greedy, culture-less assholes, we should be running the fuck outta our banks like we did in 1929. Know why we haven't? Because nobody has any fucking money in the bank! We've been broke-ass for months. Thank you fearless leader!
I can't find anything apart from that report about the "riots". Got anything more? thats why i find you such a muse odon, your the eternal optimist.. of course you cant find anything else,,havent you heard? we are on "the happy talk express".. The Happy Talk Express
Somebody has to be. But, I guess somebody has to worry. Ying Yang Bing Bang. I can't find anything else about the "riots" in Hong Kong. Slight protests, Yes. Riots, No.
well i guess unless you were there ya cant say which is correct then can ya.. im not worried odon,,cant you tell by the mockery im making out of the situation?? i even got scolded by rat again today for "ruining my credibility" and not caring about humanity..lol once again,we are "prepared".. so i dont know what makes you think im worried..
i dunno,, whats the difference between a "protest" and a "riot" when "protesters" and police clash,"protesters" storm barricades, etc.etc? i think the happy talk express has had a hold of your news sources.. Investors have clashed with police outside the Bank of China headquarters in Hong Kong over failed bank Lehman Brothers HONG KONG (AFP) — Furious investors clashed with police outside Bank of China's Hong Kong headquarters Wednesday and demanded the repayment of investments linked to failed US bank Lehman Brothers. Scuffles erupted outside the Bank of China building, as protesters tried to push through the police's barricade, an AFP photographer at the scene said.
Neither can you. I guess the only way I think you lose your "credibility" is posting crap you don't really have your heart in. Most of which is also hyperbole. So when you post something you do care about I'd treat it in the same way. That is unless you actually don't really care about anything you post? Well if your and other people predictions occur. You can't last forever. Let me know when you get a new job (or have you already?). Let me know when you can't pay your bills. Let me know when your are worried. To be fair I meant worried or not worried here. Here on the forums. Clearly you are worried on the forums even if you are not in real life.
im really interested to hear how youve came to this conclusion.. by all means do elaborate.. in regards to the rest, i dont care how anyone takes anything i post, whether i actually care about the subject or not.. and my finances are in good order for quite a long time now thanks to planning ahead and preparing for the unknown so i doubt you will here any of that from me anytime in the next couple years..no we cant last forever we all die a earthly death at some point, but we will be fine till then.. but thanks for your interest in being kept up to date.. oh an ya never answered my question, whats the difference between a protest that turns violent and a riot?
Just your general tone, the posts you make and the threads you start(including this one). If you were not bothered here, you would jog on past these kinds of threads IMO. You would not post negative gloomy posts. Just generally you are coming across as being worried. It might be faux worried, that is why I say you are like that here, perhaps, like you say you are not actually worried. Well I do hope you get past the next few years and the crunch does not come to your door. But, I do remember a few weeks ago you were definitly preoccupied with your own predicament. Perhaps your conerns were seaping into this world from the real world. Takes a strong person not to be even slightly concerned if they lose their job. No, we can't last forever, but you are only 43. You have atleast, all being well, another thirty years to go. Can your finances hang on that long? Me thinks not. Perhaps you get some kicks blowing all of this out of proportion because "You're alright Jack." If we do not get past this. You indeed will be affected. I'd genuinly like to see you not change your tune when it personaly affects yourself. See if you can remain unconcerned. How are you keeping me upto date?
I never said it was not a riot. I said I could not find anything other than your first link (all the links I found tracked back to that one) to suggest it was a riot. Your second link suggests "scuffles", which is not really violence or a riot, is it? It is a bit of pushing and shoving. "Riots in Hong Kong" probably should have been "Scuffles in Hong Kong".
obviously your opinion is wrong.your basing your assumptions on how you would act,how you would post, how you would handle the situation..if you havent noticed already, our mindsets are virtually nothing alike,we are by definition polar opposites.dont assume that just because you would act a way in a given situation that everyone would.especially i. i post what i feel will spark a entertaining thread.ive found doom and gloom sparks many different emotions here and 90% of the time leads to quite the enjoyable thread. it really helps to pass the time.. simply because you think i come across as worried does not mean i am. we all dont have the same thought processes . thank god.. the crunch came to my door a month ago,but i do hope your not affected. yes i was in the process of putting my financial ducks in a row and making sure i had a sound long term financial plan in place to make sure that no matter what happened we could make it through without getting behind on taxes etc. that plan is now in place. perhaps, and perhaps your misinterpreting concern for worry? there is a BIG difference between concern and worry.i dont see how one could show personal responsibility without showing concern for there own well being.however i dont dwell on it as that would be worry.. yes at least another 30 and i see no reason why even at 75 we cant continue on with our self sustaining lifestyle.old buggers all across this country still cutting and stacking wood and hoeing and harvesting there gardens. it keeps one young.. well obviously not, however we can sustain ourselves till we die whether we have cash flow or not. if things get so bad that i can never find work again then i really dont think it will matter whether my finances hold out or not. while i dont think im blowing anything out of proportion i do find comfort and solice in knowing "im all right jack" im sure most will get past this in some shape or form sooner or later. once again,i was affected a month ago.. you have seen it affect me and you have seen my reaction already.as ive stated i have a long term plan now in place and while we may have to further adjust our lifestyle it in no way will affect our long term sustainability, well in fact it wil, it will improve it as i now have far more time to work towards making the process easier. . i never said i wasnt concerned,i said im not worried. well i supposse by responding to all your posts.. lol on the riot/protest thing,it would seem to be subjective and was on the border of the two, obviously one saw it as a riot and one saw it as a protest. as we seem to agree, neither of us were there so we will never know, but im sure you will choose to believe it was,,what did you originally call it? "some minor protest",or something to that affect? me on the other hand ,if i was inclined to believe anything it would be that while it wasnt a full scale riot as has been taking place in thailand im sure it was not a minor scuffle.. somewhere in between i think the truth lies, but again we will never know for sure.
