So you are saying it's IMPOSSIBLE to be a "clean" president? Come on... Policy and blah blah blah, and we need to blah blah blah.. Come on... Keep your promises, pull out of IRAQ, pull out the drones, make the FIRST step in world peace. Bring the soldiers home.. But then, that would kill the economy, but the economy is already in the shitter, and if for once you had a CLEAN president, other countries might start following suit. BE AN EXAMPLE damn it! You don't HAVE to follow through on the blood orders of the past leaders. :afro:
Well, he's doing more toward the pulling out than any one else would...so that's a start. As for everyone else following suit, if/when we pull out of places, I guess I wouldn't count on that but it sounds good in theory. I'm not real fond of drone strikes myself, but if it helps keep our soldiers from getting killed, I'm all for it. Withdrawal will happen, it just doesn't happen overnight.
By "anyone else," do you mean one other person? 2? There are several other people who would have ended the wars, not just shift focus.
So, is the topic: 1) why is there no threads about Obama or 2) lets talk Obama. The reason why there are few threads is because HF is a bit more of a playful forum rather than a serious forum. I talk politics other places, not here. If we're going to talk about Obama, we can talk about why he'll LOSE. We need foreign policy that doesn't make friends with countries like Iran, and can insure our ambassadors don't get killed when they're begging for protection. Our military is #1 priority for federal government to build and strengthen not weaken. Small business, hell ALL business and commerce, need a president that is their advocate, not their competitor. Programs such as Obama care that are impossible to fund have to be cancelled, as well as entitlement programs that need major reform. Energy independence that demands we find and drill for our own oil require a president that isn't a pussy to special interest groups. Essentially, he has shown he is incapable of running a nation.
Well, time will tell, but I have a feeling Obama is going to win this one... Romney has made a few faux pas, and Obama seems to be the star of the hour...
Well firstly I'd like to ask about Obama's energy policy and that he hasn't done enough for drilling. I mean, no president has opened up as much domestic drilling since Lyndon Johnson. But that's neither here not there. It's the fact that you seem to think private energy companies drilling here means they are going to sell here. That's not true at all since approximately half of all oil drill in the US gets exported. I'm just not sure what 'special interests' in the energy industry you're referring to. I wish in this case you were right and he wasn't opening up drill areas. I don't think our energy needs are more important than the whole fucking planet.
It would be the new regulations since the explosion in the southern gulf, plus the prohibiting of the pipeline from Canada. The whole environmentalists interest and their emotional reaction to natural changes is destroying any progress to a solution. ETA.....oil exported maybe but refineries being build are what gets us to independence. Here is CA we're prisoner lack of fuel supply.
First of all we export 90% of the worlds capital. Meaning that our military doesn't mean shit. If anyone attacks us then we have complete and total veto over their economy. Throwing any more money at the most powerful and empirialistic military industrial complex that's ever existed on the face of this planet would be asinine.. gee lets just continue to dump all of the hard-working tax payers money into the private sector? Never to be seen again.. A word of advice, do some research and tune out of that republicrat propaganda.
Which regulations? Are you under the impression that the Canadian company who wants to build the Keystone Pipeline was going to sell the US all that oil? There are refineries a hell of a lot closer to Canada; they wanted it to go to the gulf so it could be exported. Explain this please. Do you have any data showing that California is suffering directly from a lack of refineries?
WTF. Veto over country's economy.....when it's global anyway.....hardly makes a different as we've seen with Iran. Empiralistic my ass. You're whole ability to pursue happiness is contingent on national security. Research ok.....that is so classic. What makes you think your democrap is any less propaganda.
Maybe someone should ask residents of Massachusetts if they want to repeal Obam--I mean Romoney care. And perhaps Romoney should be asked if he were running for govenor of that state again and won--would he try to cancel out the program HE came up with. Here's a man that will say anything to fit the audience he has at the moment. He's an empty suit.
Which regulations? The ones that say new safeties are needed because of one fluke accident. Are you under the impression that the Canadian company who wants to build the Keystone Pipeline was going to sell the US all that oil? There are refineries a hell of a lot closer to Canada; they wanted it to go to the gulf so it could be exported. It provided jobs and added cooperation between peaceful nations. Do you have any data showing that California is suffering directly from a lack of refineries? My fucking fuel bill that shows prices last month up 40% because of refinery fires, and the unallowable release of the winter blend.
Just saying 'the regulations' doesn't tell me anything. What I get from your answer is you don't actually know the regulations and therefore can't answer the question. It would provide 20,000 temporary jobs for construction and manufacturing. I fail to see how the risk/benefit analysis pans out in favor of the pipeline. So it's the presidents fault local refineries caught fire? CA has a shit ton of refineries. Sometimes there will be problems with them.
