When we take the boy down to the pond the ducks and geese don't like it. Start honking at us and making noise getting in formation.

Always one alpha too but he just honks or she, I'm not sure. Makes a lot of noise. I think that's it's got though. Never chases us or anything. Think the boy thinks it's a game and stuff.

not sure what she had to puff, i can only remember one time that they ever had anything besides generic weed. it was some purple kush type stuff...anyway its been a while since they could get that. not as enjoyable as it would have been had i smoked when i lived with her a bit over 20 years ago. --- now she smokes in the shed out back and its almost like a "ok hurry up we got 20 minutes before work time"
back in the day when i lived with her...unfortunately before i smoked and mostly didnt drink....it was just a round table of smoking and drinking in the dining room....that was before the kids of course but i dont see the need for hiding now being that she smokes with her son. funny part is my niece is going into law enforcement. maybe that is why sis still smokes in the shed.

Border Collies are also smart, and I've heard knowledgeable "dog people" refer to Australian shepherds and Border Collies as 1st cousins. I just know that if I ever do get another dog, unless I'm led/feel compelled to home a healthy old dog to save him from being euthanized...I also want a smart, needs to be walked dog starting when they are a puppy.

As long as I'm the one they start with, I'll be able to "train" them to do as I want...and yes, I'm using the word "train" very loosely. There are just a few things (not a whole big list or anything) I want and expect from a dog.

I still miss my crazy Jack, and am not wanting another dog yet. But I have thought about it...just not yet.

I just test drive the Ranger. :) I love it. She will call me next week to see if still interested and then two months I said I will be ready to go. It wasn't scary and was just like a big modern car inside very spiffy. Never driven a diesel before so sounded different. Felt a bit different but not in a bad way.

Oh and at a local horse race soon I might get to be one of the people on the horses near the starting gates using my girl to calm the horses in the race before being put in the gate.

It means all day out in the sun or rain, but it would be pretty fun I think and I'm thinking surely there's got to be bubbly afterward to drink. I just need to find a friend that'll go so my miss has someone to be with all day.

I have a friend who's really my daddy's friend just I live close to him and thus drink with him every week. He's just retired officially and has half of his savings etc. he's bought himself a little one bedroom apartment, he's alone, had always been alone. Daddy tells me once upon a time he had a woman, and she broke his heart and that was his first and only and never again.

He's a really nice guy too would do anything for me or daddy or close friends.

But I'm a bit uneasy with something.

I hate to watch and think about how lonely people, but mostly lonely males, just retire and then sit at home, gain weight, gain problems, never see anyone again and die alone and helpless. That's not quality to me.

But what this man has done, has just bought himself new recliners and an electric bed like a hospital and bits and pieces ready for retirement, right? And good on him? Right?

Well I feel as if he's already preparing himself for this nomadic end to life and with all the luxuries which are awesome and I want them too lol but I can't help but feel, he's setting himself up for it. And I don't like that feeling or that thought. =[

when i played ice hockey about 11 years ago there was an 80 year old guy that played with us. nobody liked having him on their team because he was slow but i tell you what...he wasnt the worst player out there.
that league was such a mess of super talented and super untalented people. really no surprise that there was 19-2 games every once in a while. if a game was really a blowout they would get a good player from the team winning and put him on the losing team just to keep things interesting.

that reminded me of father Costello

he played until the end (took a puck to the head and fell ...slipped into coma and died)

Much more of an observation than a passing of judgement.

I don't know about this guy but for a lot of people retirement means living on a smaller income. Shortly before I retired I bought myself a newer and better car. I even had an eye operation because I had better health insurance than I would have after retirement. Maybe he is making sure he is prepared for any contingency ahead of time and not having to come up with the money for these things at a later date.

If he is buying things for himself I think that is a good thing. It means he will be ready if he needs such things later in life.

I forgot to mention that these days people can live long after they retire. My Dad is 93 and retired 31 years ago. He fortunately saved and invested a good amount of money all his working life. It is difficult to know how much money you will need to still live well. Thirty years is a lot more life to happen.
