Actually, with Swedish snus (dipping tobacco) the rates of oral cancer have been shown to be very low, and according to this Lancet study:

There was no increased risk of oral cancer shown to be correlated with Swedish snus. It all depends on the way the tobacco is prepared, whereas American chewing tobacco is not at all stripped of carcinogens during the curing process.

However that old pancreatic cancer is still a cause for worry. But we're all gonna die of cancer anyway..
