I have definitely thought about it. My boyfriend and I have definitely talked about it as well and if we do decide to reproduce, it will be only 1 child. I'd prefer to just adopt but he kind of has his heart set on having his own. This sounds kind of sick, but I sort of hope that I am sterile and then we will have to adopt.
i have thought about this a lot. the whole child bearing part of life. i see what people are saying when thy say that you can teach good to a child. i also see the other side where we are over populated and there is bad in the world. i personally dont want kids myslef ive thought about being a foster parent when/if i stay in one spot. help the kids that are already here.
never having children of my own but when the time is right and i start thinking bout kids i'm adopting one or two..and they're gonna be boys
Exactly! I would love to make a difference in someone's life and there are so many children that are unwanted. And you have probably as good of a chance to teach them to respect the earth as you would your own offspring. The same genes do not guarantee the same principles.
I personally want to have kids of my own. my sister decided that she doesnt want any so maybe i should be the mother, i wouldnt mind.
theres only one thing that makes me nervouse about becomeing a foster mom some day and that is they are moved after a short period if you dont adopt them and i would want them to stay and be able to have the chance to learn and grow.
Not necessarily, not if you raised your children to help benefit the environment by living their lives with the smallest footprint possible. Even if YOU or a small majority of us contribute to this earth by not reproducing, doing something to help the environment like planting trees, cleaning up litter, biodegradeables, minimizing water use...etc is alot more beneficial then deciding to not have kids. I know I know, not having children means no pollution, but it also means there will be fewer eco warriors out there to help change the world for the better. But I agree completly if you mean to raise..an average child who plays video games all day consumes consumes consumes, but they can be so much more.
But I think the point is, that you can adopt a baby and do that exact same thing, while also not contributing to the population problem.
so long as this doesn't become YET ANOTHER way to lord it over other people. man, like we need any more.
I have never wanted to have children. When I was younger I always thought about adopting a child with special needs, but now I don't think I want children in anyway. But I am definitely a big supporter of adoption, there are so many children out there with no family and then you get a greedy couple who have 10 of their own even though they can't afford it
I'd rather see future "warriors" come from the results of educating people who are already born. My parents didn't bring me up to care about these things. I learned at school and from TV. You're right. Having kids is a huge roll of the genetic dice. Anything is possible. What are you talking about? Do these extremists actually exist?
well, i was only kidding, but when i think about it, there probably are. anytime there's something to believe in you'll get a few whack jobs who go too far. people are weird.
My husband and I have chosen not to have children. We had two reasons we based our decision on; The fact that it is detrimental to the environment and the fact that the world we live in now is not a world we ourselves would have chosen to be brought up in.
