I like the response from the Canadians. Historically the states of Washington, Oregon and California have suggested that they might leave the right wing controlled USA and annex to Canada. They would bring the 4th largest world economy to the Canadian provinces. The remaining US States would go bankrupt within 6 months without he California Revenue.

Well our paper has become part of MClatchy….a holding company including the Miami Hearld. The Kansas City Star and others. So all our local editorials toe the right wing party line. Same for Madison, Wi. And the opinions show up disproportionately on line on msnbc etc. So add that to the Faux news which is so far down the rat hole the sun never shines and we have a massive propaganda machine. Oh yeah, the columnists are frequently Hillsdale college graduates…what an echo chamber.

I live in Oregon, and while I can't see the west coast states actually seceding from the U.S. I can see them going rogue in terms of trade relations with Canada and Mexico and in limiting shipments in food and products to the rest of the country. We could be economically independent, the rest of the country needs us more than we need them. If the red states think inflation is bad now just wait and see what happens under Trump!
