my friend liz did her tounge, when eating she broke her tooth. not sure how it happened, the dental bill to cap the tooth was astronomical.

It hurt a LOT during the actual piercing... but not a lot after (unless I bumped something). I got both done. I've never been stopped in the airport, but my boyfriend did. The hand wand went off over his nipple every time.... he had to lift his shirt.... maybe it was set to a very high sensitivity because it was 'right' after 9/11... but he definitely did set off the metal detector. A friend set off the metal detector with labia piercings.

My GF had her nipples pierced several times, and she loves getting them done. I've pierced my own nipples, and it hurts like hell. No body jewelry will set of a metal detector in an airport. I hope you like showing off your tits, cause afterword everyone will want to see them. I think it's a great piercing and everyone should have one done, if not just for a little while.

well...looks like the big day is this saturday!! I'm getting it done with one of my best friends and this other chick, so it'll be cool. Uhm...I'm super excited. We even have the barbell picked out..it took me forever to find a sterling silver one without a shield, but I found one, so I'm happy. Yaay. Ok. So yeah. This saturday!! ahhhhhhhhhh

So strange, most (reputable) piercers will not use sterling silver as the inital jewelry for any piercing. Sterling silver is an alloy of several different metals, and there is a far higher chance of irritation/allergic reaction/rejection because of the minute nickel content. With fresh piercings you only want to use metals that are "implant grade" like surgical stainless steel or titanium. Silver is also a very soft metal, and it is easily scratched. You dont want any little scratches on the surface of your jewelry because they can cause irritation and harbor bacteria.

hmm..i thought silver wouldnt have nickel in it...it was my idea to get the silver one, so I'll buy a stainless steel one instead. thanks for the info stormyy, I'm kinda new at the whole piercing thing

Check out bmezine.com, there are a ton of pictures to look through and experiences to read for just about any piercing you can think of. That way you can become a little more informed about the whole piercing process. Before I had my nips pierced, I was on bme for hours and hours because I wanted to know exactly what to expect when I went to the piercing studio.

Yowza, those are some big balls on the end of your bar :D Looks good though, it'll be much happier the more it heals. Make sure to clean it regularly and DON'T play with it until it's well on its way to healing (or twist it a lot while cleaning). Hopefully yours don't start rejecting like mine did :(
