I think I already posted this somewhere but well I thought it was pretty cool. I like yellow paint. :2thumbsup:
Ahh sweet Ace, didn't see that. Got any full pieces? And some new shit, from life. I'm no longer working from photographs.. paintings done from photographs will never be art, only paintings. Not that there's anything wrong with paintings, just don't call those paintings art.. unless you paint the actual photograph, not just the distorted view of reality your mind creates from the limited and incorrect information the photograph provides. And just to cover my ass from misinterpretations, photography is most definitely art. Now I've just asked myself.. what is "art", as a definition. It's not an expression, expression is expression, and any of the other words people use to try and describe art aren't art. Art is a connection, in fact, it's not even a connection because there are no 2 things that need connecting.. I'm not even sure if there is a word in english that accurately describes it.. for now, the best word I can think of is "growth", opposed to the "construction" of a painting. It is going beyond the illusion of separateness, a meditation. Art is not about the painting, like meditation isn't about meditating. Art is purposeless. Thought hard about whether or not I'd consider this last painting art.. and I've decided not to call it art, as it's closer to a dance, but very very close to both. Please debate!
Lol I can talk some shit sometimes.. and thanks guys How're you doing Meditation? The flower I was going to draw wilted before i got home.. I'm guessing because I was twiddling it around in my fingers and the centrifugal force ruptured the veins/cells, otherwise it just doesn't like being picked. No idea what it was called but it had an interesting petal structure, I shall be returning to get another one soon, might bring the whole plant to be safe. So yeah, this is a Duncan's Rose. These happened today.. decided to go say hello to a couple of people at an oil painting course I wanted to attend, but couldn't due to funding. To my surprise I was invited to join them. Nice way to spend the day.. Edit: Lol, the black marks on the last 2 are the bodies of dead ants stuck to my scanner.
