Thank you Heather A team of people at Oregon State University are looking at it now and trying to determine if it is a variation or a new species. I am literally on the edge of my seat!
At this point I am sure no one cares... but so far it is not a new species. It has officially been deemed to be a species that was thought to be endemic to one watershed in northern Oregon but I extended its range by over 300 miles, so that is still exciting to me.
Even if it is not a new species I am sure finding it where it was not recorded as growing must still be exciting.

Yeah...I think this is very exciting news! I'm also interested in knowing what class or species (or whatever is correct) it is.
