Thanks a bunch man, I appreciate it. Just check on the site every once in a while for show dates and new tunes, we're working on a lot of new material nowadays.
Yeah, I listened to Acid Jam and it was great. Had that real 60s Grateful Dead spirit. Comets on Fire are awesome too, thanks Starchild! I got some new bands here too but I'll first have to check if they're any good.
Glad you like them can't wait. In the meantime i got another band here (hope it's not one you're checking out at the moment lol). The Black Angels
Alright. Here I have a really fucking awesome recommendation. PersonallyI'm loving it. HIDRIA SPACEFOLK - Symbiosis Awesome space rock with a lot of different instruments (cello, violin, flute, didgeridoo, marimba, mandolin, sitar, vibraphone...) and apparently influences from Finnish folk music (hence, Spacefolk). It's quite pretty music, bright, energetic and melodic. Check it out!
And how about the Flaming Lips? Also just discovered them. They're pretty well known I think so strange they haven't come up yet. Maybe they're too indie? Anyway, yesterday I heard Transmissions from the Satellite Heart from 1993 and it was pretty cool, now listening to Yoshimi battles the Pink Robots, a much newer album, but I think I liked the older one more. It's also more psych and less dreamy and poppy.
Hey, you know what? Forget the Flaming Lips, listen to this! La Ira de Dios - Hacia el Sol Rojo Peruvian band. And they KICK ASS.
I was just listening to these fellows again: This album is from 2000. They have already released two other ones after that, but this one remains my favourite . If you dig the band Spaceship Landing you dig this album as well! Description of stonerrock.com that rather fits, in my opinion (although it's a lot heavier then Pink Floyd!): The stylings are reminiscent of Hawkwind, Jimi Hendrix, Pink Floyd... or more recently- Monster Magnet, Orange Goblin. Lots of serious guitar leads that make this band fit into these categories. Blues laden fuzz tones and samples... wah-wah and watery space traveling sounding vocals. Lots of effects and Lots of leads. The way to a man`s heart is lead guitar done right. That last line is so true, hehe
My suggestions likely fall more in the psychedelic folk genre, but... Akron Family Fursaxa Fovea Hex Jackie-O-Motherfucker Mountain Home
